I pay about $153/month. Straight talk would be about $90.

I hate to give up my ATT Unlimited, but getting out of contract and keeping the free phones and knocking down to $90-$100 would be pretty appealing.

Does straighttalk use ATT towers? If so, is it the same performance?

Yes and yes. However, I've never experienced a natural disaster while on ST so I don't know if ATT will impose priority to their subscribers if the systems are overloaded.

Here's my speedtest results. I'm inside a building but close to mid city.

I just got the email telling me about the $5 increase. So for 2 phones, probably will end up being another $12 per month.

Does everyone think that the waiver of the early termination fee is just that? I re-upped in November, they are going to let me walk with 2 brand new iphone 6s's?

That's my plan. Don't think they can prevent it. Will probably get credit offers to offset the increase, would be my guess.

A buddy of mine says, no way they let you walk with 2 $800 phones.

My thought is, that's why the ETF goes down...to cover the cost of a depreciating phone.

We aren't required under contract to take care of our phone, it really doesnt matter, we signed 2 year contract. We can walk if we pay the fee.

I got phones at a discounted rate with an agreement to a 2 year contract. AT&T is changing the rules I signed up under, so I will walk and take my phones. I don't think they can prevent it. They made a change to the rules I signed up under.

I agree.

How much data do you use? I use a ton - probably 18 GB per month, I stream a ton of ESPN at work and stuff. So I need unlimited. Wonder if its worth it to walk?

I'm closer to 5gb month max, and not even that some months. You would probably be better off fussing and getting some kind of monthly credit for a year or so to cover the $5 cost and stay with them.

I could go to ST or Cricket and likely remain within the data caps if I wanted to switch.

Anyone made a change?

I now have 2 options: I can walk from my current plans (2 iphones around $160-will be $170 with increase) and move to the DirecTV bundle plan and be playing around $145 or so. So a little better off that I am now.

Or, I can take my iphone 6s's that I got for subsidized cost and move to Cricket. Any thoughts?

I have been using around 10-12 GB per month, and looks like I can get 10 GB per phone for around $110 per month...as I already have the phones.

My speeds lately on LTE have been very slow.
switch to a regular plan, document the speed increase, and send it to the FCC
