I just got an email saying my unlimited data plan was going up $5/month. Complete BS if you ask me. My speeds lately on LTE have been very slow.

Who do I bill for all the times they throttled me with an unlimited plan??

They're trying to make you mad so you drop them. They don't give unlimited plans to new subscribers.

I mean, I suppose the answer is obvious, but they can just increase rates even if you are under contract?

They can, but they also give you an out. You can cancel within 60 days of the price increase with the early termination fee waived. I'm planning to do that and go to Straight Talk.

I mean, it is only $5 but the whole idea of changing prices midstream for those under contract is annoying

Yeah, pisses me off too. But at least they gave me notice unlike fricking Cox Communications.

I've had ST for a few years and my only complaint is that they started completely restricting cellular data for a few video streaming apps. I can't get WatchESPN or SlingTV to work even if I use my wife's or my phone as a hotspot and try to watch on the other phone. I've been really tempted lately to shop around but every time I seriously start looking around I can't find anything better for our neck of the woods. Obviously my wife doesn't give a shite that I have to miss some of the football/basketball/baseball games until I turn on 98.1, crank the volume way up and constantly tell the kids to shut up so I can hear what's going on.

I just did a new 2 year contract the day before they announced this. Got a Note 5 and Galaxy S6 for my wife for $100 to do another 2 year deal.

I'm hoping I will be able to cancel, take my new phones and move to ST.

Did you also come here to complain when they raised the throttle limit for unlimited from five gigs to something like 22 while you were under contract? That would have pissed me off

Wondering that also. I just signed 2 new contracts and doubt they will let me take my phones and walk.

Last month verizon added $40/month on the 2 lines on my account that still have unlimited. Consider yourself lucky.

Just call and tell them you're going somewhere else.

I think they want to get rid of as many unlimited plans as they can, they probably won't be too upset.

I think they have to. I will call and complain about the increase, but hopefully can then just take my phones/numbers to ST and save some money and have my new phones.

What do you pay now if you dont mind me asking?

I pay $156 for 2 iphones with unlimited data. What would I be paying with straighttalk?

I wonder how many people complained when they increased the speed to 3G, 4G and LTE?

Are those the only two that don't work? I don't use either. But Netflix/YouTube being blocked would be a problem. As would Pandora and Iheartradio for my wife.

Tried using a VPN?

Those are the only 2 I've found so far. Plex, youtube, Netflix, amazon music/video and google music are fine. I think it's only those video streaming apps and I haven't tried using a VPN.

Like I said, it pisses me off but isn't a deal breaker.

Eta: Now that I've got the chromecast connected to the DVD system in the van I mostly use cellular data for the kids to watch movies and videos.

I pay about $153/month. Straight talk would be about $90.
