Wife is getting the nagware alert 50x a day and is asking me if that will make her phone unusable.

Does ios10 slow down 5 series phones?

Has she tried using an android? I hear people on this board are pretty fond of those.

Updated my 5s to ios10 a few days ago and it actually sped up my phone. I'm doing the Verizon trade in program bc I can get $400 for this old arse phone there as opposed to $100 anywhere else.

Don't have a 5S but my 6 feels a lot faster on iOS 10. Note that I say "feels" because they obviously sped up some of the animations in the interface.

I don't like iOS 10 so far though... seems bloated.

I don't think AT&T is, that is who my current provider is. I asked Verizon how long they would honor the $400 for the 5s and they said it was TBD, so I jumped on it since I'm out of contract with AT&T.

Verizon is also purportedly providing customers who want to trade in an iPhone 5, 5c, 5S, or SE with a $400 credit towards a new iPhone 7. However, it's also been reported that Verizon is providing those switching from Android to iPhone up to $300 on their trade-ins.

and from Verizon's site

Verizon Trade-In

Your savings will be credited to your account as recurring payments over 24 months beginning within 2-3 cycles. iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are eligible for promotional value of $650. iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C and iPhone SE are eligible for promotional value of $400.

ETA: AT&T would offer me $60 bucks for it. LOL.

Yea I looked into it...my MIL has a 5c so its like $40 in credit but if I was coming from verizon I think they would do 650. There has to be a loophole.
