How much storage should I get for my upcoming iPhone?

would 32 be enough? I mainly download songs off of Spotify and have basic apps, but I may do more down the line with my new phone.

Apple has some serious fricking design issues if you need a phone with 128gb in 2016.

Depends on what you download. Some games can be 1-2 gigs each, if you download movies for flights or whatever, those can take up a bunch of room, etc. Basic use would prolly be okay with 32 though.

Do you plan on doing any video in 4K? If so, get the 128.

This might be the dumbest statement I've heard anyone make regarding technology. Congrats.

To OP, I've always said when it comes to storage that more is better than not enough. I think that's especially relevant for the 7, since it records in 4K.

128. Go big or go home. If the stupid fricking company would offer 64 you'd be in a sweet spot. Apple- prayers sent......

I'll at least give you the chance to explain yourself before I start calling you names.

What did you mean by this?

I think he means that with all of the options for streaming, cloud storage, etc., it should be a rare case to actually need 128GB of on device storage. Personally, 32GB is good for me, but I would agree that 64 would be ideal.

You're a joke. I find it humorous that y'all's opinion has changed from "lol, look at Apple ripping you off because their phones start with 16gb" to "lol, Apple gives you too much storage, there must be something wrong with the design."

Coming here to ask the same thing.

Didn't the 6s record in 4k? or am I making that up.

I might have a 32gb and a 128gb reserved for Friday so I need to decide which one to get ASAP.I currently have a 64 and my storage shows 21.11GB used and 37.84 available.
With my photo/video library taking up 3.43gb.

Why couldn't they just make a damn 64gb! Someone help

Might actually do this. 99 cents more a month as apposed to $4 to get the 128gb phone.

Pricing

50GB: $0.99
200GB: $2.99

Y'all are stupid if you can't see that a phone should be nothing but a giant temporary cache.

I'm not going to go back through everything I said but I have probably a terabyte or more in photos and videos, ebooks, music library, documents, etc at my fingertips at all times on my 32gb nexus 6 or any computer in the damn world connected to the internet.

We moved beyond the retarded idea you need more storage on a device you could potentially lose or break last decade.

Oh I mean everyone but Apple moved beyond that.

Apple still has you lemmings thinking MOAR PHONE storage is the solution because frankly their cloud design blows chunks.

zero space should be the answer.

Well that's the answer for everyone but Apple sheep.

God help us when Apple finally moved into the 2010s and seamlessly removes photos and videos and music and documents from your phone to the cloud because y'all will be acting like it's the second coming of Christ.

How's that iTunes lightning cable to Mac back up from the 1990s treating you?

Cad, quit trying to make me feel bad. I was having a good day.

How do most other devices store to the cloud? Google drive or some sort of program like that?

Seriously not my intention. Of course storage will increase ORGANICALLY. It's the nature of computers.

However for Apple to tout this as some kind of major upgrade just underscores how weak their cloud connected solution is.

I factory reset my phone all the time and outside of having to re-enter a few passwords nothing is ever lost.

I have every video and photo since 2001 on Google cloud now so i can see literally anything from my kids' lives just by clicking it in Google photos on my phone or any PC in world.

I never think about what is "on my phone" ever. The idea I would lose anything of value if I dropped my phone in a blender never enters my mind.

All this happens with zero interaction on my part and for free.

The debate over how much I should trust Google's cloud is a different discussion but I don't think they're going anywhere right now.

Somehow Apple fails to grasp this concept or you would never ever ever get that stupid "storage full" message on your phone unless you truly have 32gb worth of apps on it.

Apple has dropped the ball big time on this and throwing 128gb option as the solution at their users is goddamn insult.

They own us. They know what you are thinking before you think it. Wait, does that make sense? Let me google that.....
