I say yes.

Obviously, I'm not serious, but I am super pumped about this team!

Jozy "Drogba" Altidore
Aron Bacon makes me forget that Charlie Davies ever existed
JaB is going to be a force in the back.
Fabian Johnson - One word. Savvy.
Michael Bradley doesn't give the ball away. Period.
I haven't even mentioned Dempsey or Donovan.

My only concerns are the outside backs. This is a very good team, already leaps and bounds better than a year ago

We need to figure out our fullbacks. I am fapping to most everything else.

Yes.

And we're not just talkin about a three-peat or a four-peat. We're talkin a minimum eight-peat.

Why not?

Don't answer that. I might believe you.

Honestly, this is the first year I've actually thought we have a chance, albeit a small one, to win the the whole damn thing.

We have a George Mason, Butler, VCU, Wichita State shot of making the whole thing

ie, we could miracle all the way into the final, but we'll lose.

That would be such a fun ride. I still remember how pumped I was when we beat Spain 2-0 in the Confederations semis. And the first half of the Brazil final. I try to block out the second half. If we could knock out some powers in the World Cup, it would be an awesome ride!

the 2009 Brazil Confed cup..... multiply that by 10 and you'll have the 2010 Iron Bowl for me.

Have we ever been in a position where we could afford to leave a guy like Timmy Chandler off the squad?

DaMarcus Beasley and Landon Donovan.... potentially FOUR World Cups, good careers. 2002 (youngest on the teams), 2006 (solid), 2010 (Da MAN!), 2014 (veterans).

Donovan was more than solid in the World Cups.

I love that our squad has five studs now in Landy, MB90, Deuce, Jozy, and Timmy. No one is world class, but damn, we have some talent.

4-2-3-1

Howard
??? Besler Gonzales/Brooks? Fabian
Bradley Jones
Zusi Donovan Dempsey
Altidore

Get rid of Dolo & move Fabian back to a defender, then bring in another Midfielder and we would be good to go.

I'm still holding out hope that Dolo will be healthy next year.

I think they have a better chance than any other year I can think of, but I doubt it.
I think more than likely, one of the big guys (Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, France, or Italy) will win it. I think the Netherlands and Portugal are pretty close to that top group as well. My dark horse candidate is Belgium. Kompany & Van Buyten anchoring the defenders, the Everton boys Fellaini & Mirallas. Plus Witsel & Lukaku... I think they've got a pretty strong team.
