Maybe I don't, help me out.

How about you stop taking shots at me and actually explain why it's not the same.

The only reason Landon wasn't on the 2014 squad were Landon's own choices. It is hilarious that folks think otherwise

If you think his not making the squad had to do with anything but Jurgen being an egotistical idiot, then I have some beachfront property in Kansas to sell you.

Landon was very honest about needing a mental health break. If he had said his hiatus was for any other health issue I'm sure there would be no problem. But sadly we have a bias against mental health disorders in this country. It was cool to see an athlete come out and be honest about their struggles. Too bad Jurgen had to be a douche about it.

In the end, the coach put himself and his ego ahead of what was best for the team. Donovan was the best US player 1 year before the tournament. At the time of the roster announcement he would have been our best option at forward, wing, and attacking midfield. If you can't see this and understand that Donovan 100% should have been on the roster I don't think there's anything else we can say to convince you otherwise.

Klinsman played it conservatively based on not knowing if landon would crumble/crack. He treated donavan like just some guy, instead of one of the 3 or 4 most important players of the previous decade. He was our heroic figure.
Disrespect. Should have been on squad. Klinsmann was coaching the developmental league. He was talking eons.

Surprised no one said eric Lichaj. Of course, he's still barely able to get a call up.

Landon had 7 goals and 8 assists the previous summer in the gold cup/ gold cup warmup. His exclusion was horrific, but looked even worse when Jozy immediately got hurt and of course wondo wondoed. Oh and let's not forget, brad Davis cleared a ball out of bounds under no pressure against Germany for a corner kick where they scored the game winner. Plus, we now know Julian green is no wunderkind

So am I never going to get an explanation how I'm presenting a strawman for pointing out Timmy Chandler?

It has to be Landon Donovan b/c it was so blatantly done due to JK's ego and feelings getting bruised instead of what he thought was tactically the best for the team.

Let me see if I follow your logic:

Jurgen punished Donovan for quitting on us during qualifying...by bringing Donovan back before the World Cup... where Donovan proved to be one of our best players.

Despite inviting him back to the team AND seeing his form/importance to our squad, Jurgen decides his sabbatical should warrant his exclusion from our roster.

So Jurgen deliberately brings a worse team to Brazil to prove a point that he willfully ignored only months prior to the World Cup.

As a result, Jurgen Klinsmann chose not to send our best team to Brazil.

And you seem to support that decision.

We do you all take this shite so personally?

Chandler had a lot of interference from his club in Germany. They flat out didn't want him playing for the USMNT. LD said he was tired of playing soccer and needed a break. I think the situations are different.

I was NEVER happy that LD was excluded from the 2014 WC tean but I understood that there were mitigating circumstances involved in the decision. How many times has LD quit soccer to only come back?

I jus think I'm a little older than the average soccer board poster and remember a time when there was no LD in US soccer. May give me a different perspective.

It's clear that some of you take this shot personally though. That's all good.

Chandler straight up turned down a call-up because he was still holding out hope for a Garman call-up.

You think that anything that doesn't fall lockstep in with your opinions is bullshite.

You get very emotional and are incapable of accepting that others may view things differently than you do.
