They seem to be hemorrhaging teams and coaches. Was there some kind of fallout? Issues with the board of directors? Disorganized? Overpriced?

They always seemed to be pretty well coached and preform well when I’ve seen their teams play. Just looks like an odd situation.

They have ‘clubs’ at every park...Probably a power struggle when one is clearly better. I’m sure keeping the coaching philosophy focused is difficult...but they always seemed to do it right.

It’s the best club in NOLA, IMO.

My experience is from the outside, but in that I see quality. It’s a big machine, I’m sure turnover is part of it.

Wonder if Orlando Cervantes is pulling some for new Gulf Coast Texans club.

They ousted out long time co-director Julio Paiz and Hubie took over as solo head of the club (about a year ago) Not really sure about people leaving but coaching turnover has been high for 25+ years.

I have not heard anything about teams and coaches leaving. There is an element of stability and an element of turnover at the Fire but that happens with any large organization. The top tier of coaches is relatively stable.

There are always going to be a few coaches that want to do things their own way and breakaway with a team and a new concept. Happens every few years..Spartans...JPSA.

As far as programs in the city go, if you want to try and compete at the highest level then the only answer is the Fire. If you are having fun and playing on a Mid-level team then other options are prob ok as well.

My son is on an older competitive team and I've not heard anything unusual going on. In general, LA Fire has been well-organized the last five years, and the coaching quality is high especially on the more competitive teams. The pricing is in line with everyone else. During the lockdown they've been pretty good at communicating and I appreciated that they at least tried to keep the players in shape with online workouts. I personally think Julio leaving was a good thing, though I am sure he has his fans.

OP might have been referring to Julio Piaz starting a Dynamo franchise in New Orleans. Just announced yesterday. I am sure that he will try to pull a few Fire teams and coaches out of Metairie and Kenner.

Will mostly be disgruntled kids/parents who can't break onto a Red team.

Not sure how they will be able to compete in LCSL for several years unless they are affliliating as an offshoot of the Lafayette Dynamo.

The word is that they will be an affiliated with Lafayette Dynamo so that they can play LCSL right away.

I figured that would be the case. They will likely target the Hispanic market, which is underserved by the Fire.

He can be successful there. Fire has 5-6 teams per age group. Lots of kids feel they should be higher. And lots of parents would prefer to stay/train in the Kenner area over City Park.

The Fire have exclusive rights to Lafreniere and City Park and access to a couple of fields at Audubon. They do not allow anyone to use any of the fields other than their teams. And since Julio Paiz was fired by the Fire a year ago and signed a non compete for 1 year I seriously doubt the Dynamo will use those fields.

Jefferson Parish Councilman Dominic Impastato signed an exclusive 10 year contract with the Fire so that they can be the sole user of Lafreniere. Even though it is a public park, nobody can use those fields other than the Fire. So, with that said, I don’t know where Dynamo will play.

IDK if y’all have seen what Southern States Soccer has done outside of Hattiesburg...they built, and are building The Oaks, a full facility replete with indoor futsal gym. It’s very impressive.
