For the olympics and World Cup I will watch ever women’s match. I just can’t get excited about any games outside of those.

Damn did Julie Johnston get benched?

ETA: Nevermind. She's playing DM. Could be interesting. The White American female Casemiro.

Brought my daughter and sat on the field. She had a blast and loved meeting some of the players.

yep... every year... but it's still essentially the same stuff... fake grass filled in with rubber pellets and sand

What's typical attendance for a women's soccer game? Outside the World Cup and Olympics it can't be much. I went a few years ago for Abby wambach's last game and The game was horrendous. I'm sure that kept a few people out.

a couple of years ago when the US Women played in Birmingham at legion field there were 35,753 (I had to look it up) vs Haiti. That was also a world cup victory tour, but still a friendly.

*ETA* my dumbass looked up USWMNT vs North Korea based on the thread title trying to see results

It's still tough to get excited for Olympics or World Cup matches. I don't think I watch Olympic matches and will only watch the knockout rounds of the WC.

The women just don't have many meaningful games to play outside of the olympics or WC. Qualifying is a joke and the rest are friendlies that aren't very interesting.

The world has been catching up the US for a while now, I am curious to see what happens when the gap gets even narrower.
