I was nervous for the first 15 minutes, but there was no way Germany would be able to keep that pace. We survived it and were clearly better as the game went on.

You've been a shite poster since LSU waxed that duck arse 4 years ago. I'd have thought someone from the Pacific Northwest would know a little more about soccer.

My one sentence revealed my knowledge about soccer. You are a winner at life.

Yep, I only used that one sentence and not years of your post history.

ETA: And yes, I am winning at life. Thanks for noticing

He's not wrong though. Too bad Jurgen thought Wondo made for a better veteran presence than LD.

Just a teeny tiny bit of a butterface there but that skin tone, gorgeous blue eyes and blonde hair is sheer Anglo-Saxon beauty Europe is famous for.

Ellis was damn near perfect with the starting line-up today. I really liked her midfield and 4-3-3 formation. I can see Press or Rodriguez starting up top instead of Heath and Heath replacing Brian in midfield, but that was a damn good selection.

And the O'Hara sub was perfect. Exactly who I was hoping for around the 65th minute when the Germans started to hurt us.

I don't want Heath to replace Brian in midfield because Brian did great there this game, and I don't think Heath offers enough defensively, and she is better when working a bit further up the field.

Why Press or Rodriguez up top?

O'Hara has been a great sub these past two games.

I've been one of the biggest critics of Jill Ellis and I still think they're winning in spite of not because of her, but still an amazing win. I knew we were winning the game when Sasic missed that PK, You could almost see the life seep out of Germany and our girls were renewed.

Passive aggressive self-promoting cheap shots a year after the snub. LD still hasn't figured it out.

German coach had a whole lot of "Po-Schmertz" about the penalty call.

Of course Germany only had 1 shot on goal the entire match...1 shot on goal in 98 minutes. The US only had 5, but 1 went in (2 if you count the PK).

We win the game even if we don't get the AM pk call. Once they missed their only opportunity, it was over. We were simply better.

Saw on the replay that the German player that Johnson fouled was wearing a necklace that Johnson's hand got caught in.

Last I checked, that was illegal in matches to wear jewelry around the neck.

Love the enthusiasm and veteran presence of @AbbyWambach despite not playing much. That kind of leadership is priceless during a WC

Agreed. @J_Klinsmann should have taken @AbbyWambach. LINK
