Just play all the younger players. This tournament is an exhibition anyways.
Exactly why Wondo shouldn't be there.

Best left mid in Germany? Fabian Johnson earning praise for strong season

He’s been widely regarded as one of the top wingers in the entire Bundesliga this season, something the German league gave a bit of credence to when they tweeted out a poll including Johnson as one of their options for best left midfielder of the year.

Mentioned as best along with Brandt, Costa, and Reus. Best at position in Bundesliga. And we play him at another position.

We have other good players at LM/LW. We have no one else at LB. We're a better team with a slightly worse LM but a very good left back.

Now you can argue klinsman should've called in and trusted a LB like Villafana or Lichaj but he didn't. With the players we're bringing playing him at LB is the best play

Lichaj was on the 40 man.

Outside of Pulisic and maybe Nagbe, who?

That's what I'm saying, if he had brought Lichaj into the 23 man then playing Fab at LM is probably the right move. But for whatever reason he didn't. I would be fine with Pulisic, Zardes, Nagbe, or wood on the wing

frick that. He is FAR from a GOOD option.

And has Wood ever played on the wing?

I think Zardes gets a bad rap bc he can be such a bad technical player at times. But he's productive. He always seems to be at least involved in positive plays. Not to mention against some teams we're not to going to be able to play technical at all, and in those instances his industry and athleticism has a place in the squad.

Wood played on the wing for us in one of our recent games. Maybe the Guatemala game in Columbus actually

Who?

Other left backs: Castillo, Villafana, Shea, Lichaj. Oh wait.

He's not even the best winger for LA.

I feel like people are way overrating Morris. He was complete trash for a several weeks of the league.

I don't think wondo makes it if Jozy wasn't injured. He's a boring option but he's not much worse right now than Morris.

I'd rather call up Agudelo than Wondo.

Also, I wonder if we'll try a 3-5-2 with Johnson and Yedlin at wing backs. Would be interesting.

Only thing I'm disappointed in is bringing in Orozco over Ream, Lichaj, and Omar.

Again, players who we didn't call in. I'm talking about strictly considering who Jurgen put in the 23.

But are you really saying you'd rather Castillo at LB and Johnson at LW than Johnson at LB and Pulisic at LW?

Yeah, actually. Honestly I would rather Villafana or Lichaj at LB and one of the best wingers in the bundesliga at left wing.

Best for LA, one of the most dominant teams in the MLS, doesn't necessarily mean best for the national team. Also doesn't he like lead the league in assists or something?

You don't think Lletget would be better for the USMNT than Zardes?

And no, Zardes doesn't league the league in assists. He doesn't even lead LA in assists. And his assists/90' is pretty low compared to the league leaders.

And all 4 of his assists this year have come as a CF, not LW.

Zardes is also world leader in accidental assists.

Zardes is at his best when he plays forward, as close to goal as possible. LA Galaxy play much better with Zardes and Keane up front and Magee and Lletget on the wings with Gerrard and Dos Santos roaming up the middle as they are playing now (with great effect).

With the roster Klinsmann has selected, I think Johnson has to be played at LB.
