I supported the decision to have him on the team, but I don't think I melted over it.

I wish one of our many promising CB prospects would make the switch/grow into a fullback.

That's kind of pointless to say. The issue is with the coach's preferences, obviously.

I wouldn't mind a starting 11 that looked like this with Pulisic on the right. Play a guy like Cameron at defensive midfield on that side to cover for him and Yedlin. He holds, Bradley pivots. Play Dempsey like a false 9 since he's going to drop back and beg for the ball anyway. Wood, Morris, Finlay, Zardes as attacking super subs. Ream is the key. The further up the pitch we can play fabs, the better. Having he and Pulisic making runs in the final third would be glorious. It will never happen

I thought De Jong killed him.

I prefer him to Zardes on the right but we know Zardes will make the squad. Finlay will be left out I'm sure

This won't happen, but I'd love to see these 23 make it in.

GOALKEEPERS (3): Tim Howard (Everton), Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), David Bingham (San Jose Earthquakes)

DEFENDERS (7): Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), Steve Birnbaum (D.C. United), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Tim Ream (Fulham), DeAndre Yedlin (Sunderland), Eric Lichaj (Nottingham Forest)

MIDFIELDERS (7): Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Alejandro Bedoya (FC Nantes), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), Fabian Johnson (Borussia Monchengladbach), Jermaine Jones (Colorado Rapids), Darlington Nagbe (Portland Timbers), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)

FORWARDS (6): Jozy Altidore (Toronto FC), Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders FC), Ethan Finlay (Columbus Crew), Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders FC), Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund) Bobby Wood (Union Berlin)

I just don't know about Yedlin as a starter. He seems to do a lot better as a sub. I would also prefer someone better defensively behind Pulisic. Either put Ream at RB or put Besler at CB and Cameron at RB.

Yedlin has improved by leaps and bounds at Sunderland IMO. His defensive awareness and positioning is night and day to what it was a year ago. He obviously still has a long way to go- but it just looks like the defensive aspect of the game is coming to him more naturally now. I thought he played damn well against Arsenal

Yeah if Yedlin is good enough to start at RB in the prem he is good enough to start for us.

That is why it is difficult to move Cameron from CB to DM. His role in that last line of defense is critical, especially because Brooks can be counted on for at least one space out/lapse of concentration per match.

Brek Shea is terrible, and has no business being on the USMNT.

Jurgen got that one spot on.
