This is funny, because Jurgen really likes to act like it is.

Pleasantly surprised to see Lichaj in there, but no Villafana and no Lletget is just a joke. No Dax and no Kljestan is also a joke. Chandler making the 40 is also silly given how bad he has been this year, and the fact that he is not even playing. Then again neither was Orozco, and Alvarado still isn't playing either. Mix has been underwhelming in league play. Again, Klinsmann's claims of meritocracy ("current club form matters most!") are hollow.

I noticed that only two wide players are listed as midfielders. The rest are center mids. Given the assinine Landon Donovan positional arguments Jurgen gave us before cutting him, this is a bit concerning. Do we lose out on a good wide mid option like Finlay because he's not one of our top "forwards" ???

Really what is the point of even wasting call ins on Alvarado and Orozco?

I mean, I get that personal preference is involved... It's like that everywhere.

It's just that I don't quite understand what Jurgen prefers with Michael Orozco, Timmy Chandler, etc

ETA: Why should Lichaj even show up to camp, you know damn well he won't make it. Dude hasn't been called up since the World Cup. shite, even Spector has had a call up since.

It will be interesting to see if he is selected as the third keeper rather than Rimando or Bingham.

Pretty much hits it on the head.
Sorry, but that's bullshite. If that's how it is, then it needs to change.

He absolutely should be picked over Rimando. Can't believe he keeps getting picked.

If we're going to bring in a veteran MLS forward, how about giving CJ Sapong or Teal Bunbury a shot?

Pulisic up top.

He's listed as a forward, not a striker. We've been playing with one striker and two wingers recently, so some of the wingers are listed as forward (Pulisic and Finlay) while Bobby Wood, Zardes, and Morris all play on the wing sometimes.

Am I missing something with Kljestan? I don't watch MLS so maybe I'm not in the know with how he's doing but he has always been outclassed when representing the US against top teams.

Seeing Wondo's name makes me cringe. Mix has been **** for a while now. Zardes is just an Altidore remake with slightly different qualities. Stone feet McGee. Edgar Castillo is like the new Bornstein for me.

Do like the Alfredo Morales pick. He's been getting some quality time at Ingolstadt. Excited to see Wood, Pulisic and Morris on the attack.

No. Altidore is way better than Zardes.

I don't get the push behind Kljestan. He doesn't have the performances that Feilhaber had last year to deserve all this anger at his exclusion.

I am happy that Perry Kitchen made it as he's playing very well for Hearts. Unless Will Trapp starts playing well for the national team, the DM spot will be his for the taking from Beckerman.

At this point, I'm guessing during one of the early camps, Jurgen walked around a corner to find Benny, Sacha, Lichaj, Donovan and Bocanegra cracking Nazi jokes and doing Jurgen impressions.

I actually haven't watched much of Kljestan, but I have seen a lot of Benny. Feilhaber has been great for the last 3-4 years.

Kljestan's floor > Benny's floor (at least for their clubs the past couple seasons.

Benny's ceiling > Sacha's ceiling

Either way, I think the frustration is that the team CLEARLY lacks a creative, "unlocking pass in the final third" type of midfielder - and these guys can't get a sniff, even if they're the best we have at it. They should at least get A LOOK. The only guys that fit that bill are Nagbe and Nguyen, and Klinsmann usually sticks them out wide.

Kljestan and Feilhaber are better set piece takers than anyone else we have in the pool as well.

Personally, I think Bradley is much better than either of those two.

I've seen Bradley shite-hit two many corners for him to be the primary corner taker. I get that he's probably trying to pull off the Olympico too often, but still.

Bradley is also VERY valuable in the air on set pieces or cleaning up at the top of the 18.

You lose both of those when Bradley is taking corners.
