That's nicer than the one a commenter on SBI posted last week. Sash-tastic!

That's a pretty good midfield by CONCACAF standards.

that midfield is an example of MLS benefitting some of our CONCACAF counter parts as much or more so than it's benefitted us.

Good news:

@GrantWahl
Hearing Klinsmann talk, he really does consider Jermaine Jones to be 1 of the most important US players.

I know it goes against basically 100% of this board's opinion, but Jones is absolutely one of our best midfielders. I can definitely see Jurgen's reasoning here.

Oh also this is the pic of our kits in 1916, so this leaked kit is a very nice homage to those with a little tune up for looks.

"Captain T. Swords"

awesome.

He's inconsistent. Way too inconsistent.

When Jones is on his game. He is a great deep passer and his motor are good attributes.

And then he punches some Honduran in the face in the 40th...

I agree but when he's off, he's a wild and out of control fouling machine. It's entertaining but we can't afford a red card.

I think he exceeds our other CDMs enough talent wise, that it makes starting him worth the risk.

Which of our other true CDMs are good enough to play for Schalke, let alone be a 90 minute lock?

Jones has also had games where he isn't as positionally disciplined (?). This is a game where starting Beckerman and Edu would be a GOOD thing, because if nothing else, they wouldn't be caught up the field on the counter.

I will say this about Honduras.... They feel (and have for years) that they can go toe to toe with us, and they often do. The two games in 2009 were fantastic affairs. They don't play like a typical bunker, counter and PK Central American side.

In fact we might be best served to try to bunker and counter.
