Your expectations of the USMNT are obviously too low. Let me know when you actually want to push towards being competitive. Little ole USMNT should just be happy getting out of the group. GGG did that so give him a lifetime contract right?

Who is more talented, the Dutch or English?

If it’s England then Southgate sucks and allowed a draw to a US team that only got 1 shot on target.

If it’s the Dutch then are you saying the despite GGGs awesome tactics that the talent gap between the US/England and the Dutch is that big to get run off the pitch?

The answer is Southgate isn’t great but LVG is pretty damn good and exposed GGG. The Dutch aren’t that much more talented than us. It was coaching and team set up that were the difference that day.

Also GGG said he didn’t play Gio because of “tightness” not lack of fitness. Get your story straight.

Don’t let all the Gregg bickering distract from the whomping our lads laid on LLLL Tri last night. Give them at least 24 more hours of praise.

Exactly bruh, I'm leaving the Gregg stuff alone for now because why take away from us arse raping Mexico. First, frick Mexico are bad. Besides Edson, who would get into the U.S. first team last night that started for Mexico.........Zero.

BJ did what I think a lot of us wanted.....he played Gio in the CAM role. Mexico are so damn slow as it allowed Weah and Pulisic to blow by their wingbacks with ease. We could and should have scored more. It was great to watch us play direct instead of looking like 2011 Barca in the middle of the pitch with no chances or end product.

I know one thing, Musah should 100% be the backup to Adams at the holding mid spot. Mexico were toothless so it's hard to know for sure how he'd do against better opposition but I know it's better than watching sorry fricking Acosta.

What an arse whooping. Probably the most comprehensive one we have ever laid on Mexico

Going forward though it does beg the question - Callahan got this performance out of the team in just a few weeks, more than GGG got from them ever against Mexico. Does this speak to GGG as a manager or was it just the first time we really had our A+ squad (minus Adams) on the field? One of my main takeaways was how with possession we actually tried to do something with it rather than fall into the horseshoe of death passing pattern than plagued all throughout qualifying

Since it looks like we are stuck with GGG, my hope is that he was watching and learning. Nothing in his past suggests he is capable of that, though, and it's questionable whether Gio and Pepi would play for him.
Any chance we appeal one or both of the red cards from last night? Only way for CONCACAF to save any face from that shite show of a ref they rolled out there for that match.

The lack of defense and composure displayed by Mexico is incredible really. Seems like they play against the US with deep laden insecurity and simply don’t have the mental toughness to get back into the game. US owns them right now

They can't even do it in front of largely home crowds on US soil, which honestly still sickens me.

They are definitely feeling the pressure from their own fanbase. I would also guess they are torn between feeling like they are/should be as good as us while being faced with the reality that they aren’t

Any thoughts on why they were late coming out of the half? Not much discussion on that

When you are used to having things your own way and are suddenly faced with that not being the case anymore, it can lead you to lash out irresponsibly. See 1861.

proof of citizenship should be a requirement to buy tickets, and even then we need fan segregation. the Mexican federation is in the death rattle phase. we didn’t just beat them, it was an embarrassment. and it’s only going to get worse. what a fricking trash civilization

He basically has to. There's no way you can take Puli or Weah out at this point. Weah has flat out been our best player the past 2 years, I'm sure there's a stat somewhere that shows he's been involved in almost every goal we've scored (2 assists last night).

The only worry about Gio as 10 is if he'll have the midfield mindset to get back when necessary. They'll be games against elite teams that we won't boss and we'll need the mids to put in a full shite on both sides.

Gio did enough last night and Adams is pretty damn good at what he does. Musah was better in that role than I thought he would be.
