Nope.

ETA: I'll root for neither, just laugh at them both whatever happens.

Glad to see Dest is owning up to his idiocy. Sounds like the team also got to show their … um, displeasure.

I imagine they'll do a player vote like they did with McKennie in Nashville and with Gio in Qatar and they'll vote to keep him because we have good team chemistry, and even if they all hate Dest's guts, he has been a top 3 player for us since 2021. Just like with the Gio fiasco where Gregg knew he needed Gio and Gio knew he needed the USMNT, the team likely knows they need Dest and Dest knows he needs the USMNT.

This will be a "thing" for the public and media for the next camp that Dest is called up, but will die a silent death after that... unless he picks up another stupid red card.

What infuriates me about the Dest fiasco is that the A team only has so many games together to form chemistry and work on different game states.

So he goes and blows his top, and instead of practicing on how we work in the final 3rd, we’re fricking doing time wasting tactics to end the game as a 2-1 road loss to Trinidad. Probably beat them 3-0 or more if he simply stays in the game.

And he was playing well!

One of the more underrated funny things about the Dest incident is that Gio was the first one and main one that was trying to calm him down.

When shithousing Gio is telling you to chill the frick out, you know you've gone full retard.

Dest reminds me of Timo Werner.

A lot of hype I don’t get.

Will not miss him if he’s not called up.

Don’t remember Timo being so mentally weak however.

I think his talent is overrated. And everything I read about him mentally is he is a head case. Combine the two and you have a not good player.

He's been one of best players for the better part of 4ish years. Sure he's had some bad games too, but it's undeniable that we are better with him.

I don’t see this. I know it’s an opinion probably I share with no one. But I don’t see it.

Where are you reading this, and can you link it? Maybe hot headed on the field but a head case? That’s not something I’ve heard. I’ve heard he’s a weird dude, sure. But head case? No.

He was arguably our best player in Qatar

Just watch this goal against Mexico last June and tell me Dest's talent is overrated.

The most maddening thing about Dest for me is that he is clearly not wired to put in the work to be a world class player despite having world class talent. He just wants to live in cool cities and every now and then pants a defender and do saucy backheels or wrongfoot passes.

With that said, today notwithstanding, he has been one of our most consistent and best players for the USMNT since 2021.

It was a clear moment of stupidity. I think he will learn from it. He's already apologized. I also like seeing the team holding him accountable. Reinforces the good culture they have

Can we discuss the first 40 minutes of the game before he was sent off? I thought we were doing a decent job of creating chances. Pepi and Balo seemed to be running into each other a little but they also haven't played together a lot. I thought Aaronson was awful. Not sure if anyone else agrees with that

Ya he was bad. Tried a shot when Pepi was wide open in front of net next to him, and he got dispossessed way to easy on that 1:1 run in midfield.

How have they held him accountable? Words lol.

He was sent off by refs not coach. So until the next opportunity for a game and he is not called up by coach - thats the first chance to be held accountable (actions not words).

Its like a kid who stole cookies and ate them telling his mom he’s sorry. He’s sorry until the next batch is made if not held accountable with actions.

Only next time he has a roid rage might be in a bigger game and cost much more. The damage he did was huge. It changed subs and strategy and robbed other players (who worked hard to get here) of playing time due to only 10 men.

He alone meant the game and trip was a complete waste. He made USA soccer look like spoiled brats on the world stage to soccer fans amd media.

Words are not enough but in this everyone gets a ribbon world we live in he’ll get more chances just like our bad coach did. And him getting a second chance will rob another US player who has worked hard and played the right way of a roster spot. No one thinks about the like of players who would never disrespect oir country like that. And thats why our soccer is a joke and we’ll never win a WC.

We are in the early but still important stages of the WC26 cycle. But its already a joke with a recycled failed coach brought back because our federation is all grifters and insiders. We will waste the best talent ever “again” with a washed up coach. It will be 2 wasted cycles.

And he gets paid $1.6m per year! And can’t best a bad T&T team with much better talent. We witnessed him going into brain freeze for the last 50 minutes of the game. Thats what he is. He has feasted ($$$) on the best talent yet produces poor results.
