I hate getting hyped on prospects because we always talk who is next and it never seems to happen. However, this is different. He really looks too good to fail.

I have full confidence he will get tons of minutes this summer at Copa America.

I like Wil Trapp's potential. I don't know if it'll ever be fully realized though.

I've made a point of trying to watch every Dortmund game that I can, just to watch him get fifteen minutes at the end of the game. My German friend said that the German media are going nuts about him. He's the eighth youngest player to premier I the bundesliga, and the third youngest in the past ten years. Draxler is one of the other two. That's pretty good company.

But seriously, I get more excited about his career the more that I watch him. He's a fun, fun player to watch, too, and I get disappointed when the game ends because I just want to see more.

I feel the same way. I've been a casual BvB fan for some time now and this development is further evolving my fanhood.

He looked amazing in that footage. His burst is world class and will only get better with age.

Hendo, I'll say this, I feel like I've seen enough of him w/ Columbus and US youth teams that I don't see what he does to warrant any hype? He always seems to turn the ball over a lot and is weak in tackles. He was very disappointing vs Columbia a few weeks ago

I really like his passing range and from the bit I've seen, he seems to have good spacial awareness, which is really what you need from a DLP. Like I said, I don't know if he'll ever put it together but he has tools that I like.

He may also fit the BvB system better than the USMNT. Playing with better players can make someone elevate his game.

Where has the hype been? I don't remember hearing much about him at all until the last few months.Have I missed it?

American players at big clubs are such a rarity. Much less getting real minutes and playing well. Makes you wonder how our national team keeps up. I don't really buy the American bias argument. I don't see how it would a beneficial to a club to not want a really good player because he's from the US.

He wasn't insanely hyped, but he was pretty well known for signing with Borussia Dortmund and his performances with the youth national teams.

If we didn't frick up with the Olympics he would've been perfect for that.

nope nope nope

rather him playing in the Copa American vs first and fringe national team players than in an U-23 tourney.

I think he will be fine. Atleast he's at a club with a track record of developing players.
