I'd say Dempsey performed exactly as expected. If he was younger, he'd be pulling more playing time or a bigger transfer fee. I'll miss him, but he is making room for the future.

Agree, but I will still love this team. We are loaded with Brazilians and Belgians. Can't complain.

Something I saw online had him actually listed as CDM/CB. So maybe we can use him on the back line.

Agreed, unless we're going with like a 3-2-4-1 or something like that where we'll use a CDM or 2.

watching his highlights, he looks better suited as a defensive mid. how would you fill that line up? we have good depth in the midfield, but a lot of youth and inexperience.

A 3-2-4-1 would look something like this:
Soldado
Bale - Paulinho - Dembele - Lennon
Sandro - Capoue
BAE/Rose - Vertonghen - Walker

I saw score and that saldado was man of the match not much else .
