Top Players for each World Cup team

I was just reading through this SBNation draw preview, and it listed the top player for each team. I thought it was interesting, and I wanted to know if all of you agreed with each team's representative.
I've bolded the ones that I don't think can be argued. What do y'all think about some of these picks? And if you disagree, who is better?

Mesut Ozil. I'm taking him without even thinking about it.
quote:
Belgium: Eden Hazard
Probably so. But he has plenty of competition.
quote:
Uruguay: Edinson Cavani
Suarez disagrees. They are so stacked at forward. I do not want to draw them because I don't think our back line could hold.
quote:
United States: Michael Bradley
I actually agree here. Jozy is great, but Bradley makes us tick.

Ivory Coast: Yaya Toure
I hate to dethrone Drogba since he will be playing this year, although I guess I am quicker to dethrone Donovan from the US. Drogba will always be my first soccer man crush.

Netherlands: Arjen Robben
RVP

Bosnia and Herzegovina: Edin Dzeko
I'm arguing this bold:
Miralem Pjanic is just as important to Bosnia's success if not more so than Dzeko as the playmaker. Of the two, there's little question Pjanic would be my first choice if I were building a team.
quote:
Switzerland: Xherdan Shaqiri
Maybe he'll prove to be soon but for now it's Gökhan Inler working the midfield.
quote:
Italy: Mario Balotelli
It's Pirlo. Then De Rossi. Without question.
Hopefully Balotelli can prove to be that important.

Mexico: Carlos Vela
quote:
Germany: Bastian Schweinsteiger
Lahm or Ozil could be argued
quote:
Belgium: Eden Hazard
I'd consider taking Kompany first if I had to choose only one.

Vela might be, though his absence during this prolonged down stretch has increased his lore to the point everyone thinks he's the best Mexican player.

I think Falcao could be bolded
Neuer Deserves to be considered for Germany, as does Lahm

Speaks for itself. Especially considering they have 5 matches in-hand on him.

I think Tim Howard is #1 for us. He is one of the top 10 GKs in the World and Bradley is not a top 10 "box-to-box" CM. Bradley is obviously more important though since the dropoff from Howard to Guzan is not far.
ETA - Why is Cristiano Ronaldo in bold?
ETA2 - Misread the purpose of the bold text.

You would argue against CR7 being Portugal's best player?

You could say Lahm over Schweinsteiger but Özil isn't nearly as important as Schweiny, IMO. If we're going with just the best at his position, it's Lahm.

Big time Isla fan here, I might rank him ahead of Vidal.

Just saw that you disputed Ribery

Especially considering that Lloris has been an absolute shitshow the past few weeks.

Has RVP ever done anything in the WC?
It seems like for the big competitions Robben is the man...

Robben has been back in God mode, he's out about 6 weeks though. This one isn't about being fragile, Augsburg keeper went in cleats up and gashed him pretty good on the knee.

Arturo Vidal
Jorge Valdivia

Uruguay: I think Suarez is a detestable piece of poop, but he's the best player on their squad.
USA: Bradley's a fair enough pick. There's definitely an argument to be made for Landycakes though. His Gold Cup form was amazing. I hope Juergen doesn't throw the baby out with the bathwater and under-utilize Donovan this WC.

Ribery is the French Darron Gibson.

I guarantee you he is the first name on Tabarez's team sheet... He also has almost double (39) the goals of Cavani (20) for country... He has also eclipsed Forlan (36) as the all time leading goal scorer for Uruguay, despite being 8 years younger..
