I think it would be cool if North Carolina eventually got a team. If that happens then they would be very natural rivals with the Atlanta club.
Florida is pretty close geographically and at this point in time that will be the most natural rival, but those two clubs will have each other and I don't feel like there is a ton of connectivity between Atlanta and South Florida, whereas everyone is always on the I-85 corridor.

Despite Atlanta immediately becoming the nearest club to where I live (Nashville), I don't think I can support them just due to my childhood hate for the Atlanta Braves, and Atlanta Falcons. I wish them well, but I won't be a supporter.
I am a bit amused at Arthur Blank claiming that the Atlanta fans are now "owners" of the club. And that buying the Atlanta scarf makes you a "founder". Seems like trying to copy what Nashville FC is doing, except not really. Not even at all.
In all likelihood I will probably end up supporting Orlando City. It's where my parents live, and I can see myself going to matches when I take trips in the summer to visit them. I guess I just have a penchant for supporting Floridian sports franchises destined for failure due to shitty fans.

Yeah, because a NPSL team was the very first to do such a thing.

I never said they were the first. Just saying that Blank and co. are making statements that are simply not true. Atlanta is not supporter owned. Buying a scarf will not actually make you a "founder".

I live in Huntsville, AL, and Atlanta FC will be the only MLS team within driving distance. Looks like I finally have an MLS team to support.
