Pretty much. $17.50 an hour to watch World Cup/compute scenarios sounds good to me.

so pretty much if we win wednesday and score more points then slovinia we advanced right

Let's simplify this, eh?
We will not advance if we lose to Algeria. A draw vs. Algeria will have us at 3 points, which will PROBABLY not be enough to advance. As an athlete, you focus on winning you next match, so let's just say that if the US doesn't win, we don't advance.
So, we beat Algeria, that gives us 5 points. The only match that truly matters is England/Slovenia. Why? Because Slovenia has 4 points right now. If Algeria beats England and loses to us, they only have three points. If England loses to Algeria, then they can only total 4 points with a win vs. Slovenia.
So basically, we win vs. Algeria, then we want to win by 2 or more OR we want England to beat Slovenia.
So beat Algeria by 2, and we're pretty much assured of getting into the knockout stages.

it doesn't matter who wins wednesday, if we win we have to pull for a victory for either team a tie is the worst possible scenario right now

An Eng-Alg tie gives us the most possible chances to advance (4 or 5 out of 6) (assuming we don't lose obviously)

A US win over Algeria by 2 goals gives us the best chance, regardless of what happens in 15 minutes.

Yeah I'm just looking at it as a whole regarding the England game. A tie would allow us to possibly advance on a tie, something that an outright win or loss by England would not allow.

My scenario:
1. Brits tie Algeria today.
2. US crushes Algeria by 3.
3. Brits beat Slovenia by 1.
USA #1 with 5
Brits #2 with 5
1. Brits tie Algeria today.
2. US crushes Algeria by 3.
3. Brits beat Slovenia by 1.
USA #1 with 5
Brits #2 with 5

Is that the latest projection? I haven't looked past the opening round.

Assuming Ghana beats Australia they'll have the lead going into the last game vs Germany.

If England and Algeria tie today, all we have to do is beat Algeria and we're in, regardless of the Slovenia/England outcome.

yep
but also the only way we win next wednesday and don't advance is that if england and Slovenia tie and we can only score one goal and they score 2
meaning we 3 teams have 5 but england has 4 or 5 goals probably 5+ Slovenia has 5 goals and we only have 4 meaning we get knocked out.
If we win and england wins
per your chart we have 5 england has 7 and Slovenia has 4
if Slovenia wins they have 7 we have 5 and england has 4 so we advance
best case scenario assuming England wins today is that eng slv doesn't tie cuase that means if we win we get in over the loser of eng slv
sry i was confusing by not refering to ENG SLV my bad

Germany will regroup and finish #1 in that group. If we want to face Ghana in round 2, we need to finish #1 in our group, which could lead to a quarterfinal clash with the Messicans.

Isn't the most likely advance for us:
England wins today
We beat Algeria
Either England or Slovenia win
England wins today
We beat Algeria
Either England or Slovenia win

Yep, we'd only have to worry about a tie in Eng-Slv, but if we win by 2 against Algeria I think we advance.
