frick, I just watched the goal. It always feels like it just happened yesterday.

That moment has never felt so far away.

If the World Cup started tomorrow I don't think I could watch a single game.

I don't think I'll be able to watch any games with a concacaf team involved when it does come around.

It's fricking harrowing that come to 2022 when (hopefully) we 're playing our first match of that World Cup, it'll be the first time we've watched the US in a World Cup since Wondo's miss.

frick, this is going to be a long arse 5 years.

We better fricking win the Gold Cup in 2019 and make a Confed Cup run in 2021 just to have something good going for us in the meantime.

We had Danny Williams and Weston Mckinnie playing significant minutes with their club teams in the Bundesliga and EPL at defensive mid. We didn't call them up, and instead of playing a solid defensive midfield when we need a draw we played Bradley basically by himself. Disgusting

Define significant minutes as it relates to Williams.

He has 3 appearances in 7 league games. I mean significant in the sense that he's playing in important league games. He's not on an EPL team the same way Akpom and Rene-Adelaide play for Arsenal.

My point is what sort of position are we in the midfield to turn down players deemed good enough to play in EPL games?

He's played 152 minutes since May and fractured his foot less than a month ago. He shouldn't have been called in.

The fact that wondo missing that sitter is our last World Cup memory for 8 years is so depressing.

I guess technically Green's goal happened later in that game. That is also a pretty depressing memory but for a different reason.

I didn't realize he hurt his foot. But apparently he wouldn't have been called in anyway.

Why was he not called in at any point in this cycle? Or at least in the hex? He's the closest ready made like for like to Jermaine Jones we have in the player pool, and Jones is a player we clearly miss dearly.

I know hindsight is 20/20 but sticking with MLS guys, the established MLS vets, was a disaster.

Man, don't worry about nothing. My boy just turned 13, and he was invited to participate in a PDP for one of his leagues. 5 years from now he'll be 18 and dominating.... his intramural frat team at college.

Ok I'm doing better. 2019 Gold Cup and 2021 Confederations Cup are goals.

One thing that's helped me a bit is realizing that Graham Zusi single handedly saved Mexico from this exact fate four years ago. It went their way that night and didn't for us on Tuesday.

They went through a qualifying cycle of being primarily garbage, and somehow managed to get back to the top pretty readily.

They also made wholesale changes at the top. Hoping we do the same.

If you thought this usmnt was any good you dont watch enough soccer.
The 2nd pot teams would all crush them.

I love pulisic.
Not much else.

You need a few good ones. There are latino boys on my street. They were playing football on sunday. They play basketball. They do own a soccer ball but its just one of three sports and hoops gets the most practice time.
You think 3.5 million uruguayans are playing anything but soccer?

Forlan is old. They are still competitive without him.

video

Here's a video of Bruce in the airport after the game. His demeanor is astounding. Dude is laughing after the most embarrassing display in U.S. soccer history. It just kinda sums up the current attitude of the federation right now.

I feel so dejected about not qualifying. We need real experts to come in and tell us what to do.

They also have a revolving door at coach, more talent, and more pressure.

I was hoping Mexico was gonna save us with their late free kick.

I even said, "we love you forever and ever..." before they stepped up to take the free kick.
