The Florida Cup?

Why would Shaktahr, Schalke and Bayer Leverkusen be playing in a random friendly tournament in Florida in the middle of the season? Schalke beat the Fort Lauderdale Strikers 2-0. There are also a bunch of Brazilian teams. Seems utterly pointless.

They have been on winter break... This is just a mini pre-season to get them back in shape for the second half of the season

If the MLS was smart they would try to set up some games with these teams.

Kind of an intriguing set up. It's both a friendly tournament and a holiday for the Euro clubs. I also like that they include teams like Fort Lauderdale in the tournament. That's a good opportunity
