Is Fab injured or something?

I thought Bradley was already in the US/Canada though.

Also, I didn't mean to insinuate anything about anyone's role being safe or not.

He is, but wasn't in January camp which consisted of mostly MLS players.

I guess we're stuck with Beasley at left back

Correct me if I'm wrong... But wasn't our offense explosive with Beasely at LB? Seems like I remember he had some problems with big wingers, but his prowess on the attack more than made up for it. I think our form was great when both he and Fabian Johnson were on the field.

Just read this by Ives

Bradley was brought in because of the fact Toronto FC has a bye on the opening week of the MLS season. The 2014 season kicks off on March 8th.

How are we on the second page without a lineup prediction?! Who do you guys think starts at RM?

Bedoya

And Shea has a roll on this team for now and I still stick by that. As bad as he can play he has come in after the 65th minute in several games and made a positive impact

I believe green is in the same boat eligibility wise that AJ was in

Jozy
Johnson-Dempsey-Bedoya
Bradley-Jones
Castillo-Gooch-Brooks-Cameron
Howard

Lots of possibilities here though. Johnson could play LB with Johannsson starting on the wing, Brooks might not be healthy so Packwood or Ream could get the start, or Klinsy could get really brave and go back to our old "empty bucket" formation with Dempsey on the left, Bradley and Jermaine in the middle, Bedoya out right, and Johannsson and Jozy starting up top. Or as a variation on that he could even try a 4-4-1-1 with Johnson on the left and Dempsey in the hole.

We need to bring Shea just in case we get matched up with Mexico in the round of 16

This squad is Euro centric.

If Jozy scores a goal or 2 Sunderland fans are going to shyt the bed.

I am too. Love him as a super sub for the last 15 minutes of a close game.

Agreed. When a game has completely gone to shite, and things like positioning, defense and fitness are out the window - Shea shines.

And I don't mean that in a negative way at all.

I think of a game like USA-Italy in 2006. That game was scripted for a player like Shea.

Not that Bruce Arena WOULD HAVE USED THE THIRD frickING SUB anyway.

Exactly. He will have value in that situation. Which is why I believe he makes the roster. It's worth a bench spot for him.

:EddieJohnson:

Think I just puked a little from defending Brek Shea and Eddie Johnson at the same time

You've seen our group, right? Beasley's serviceable against CONCACAF opposition, but he'll get destroyed against the squads we'll be playing against. Especially because we'll be on the defensive most of the time.

I'm kinda wondering what the mentality will be for the Ukrainian players.

Agreed. I really think with the group we've drawn and our(relative) depth in midfield compared to fullback, it makes more sense to play Fab at left back

Is it possible that Bacon plays somewhere in the advanced 3 midfielders of the 4-2-3-1 at all? I think he and Jozy both absolutely have to be on the field, but I don't see us changing our formation for that to happen. I think he can play anywhere in our top 4 with his skill set
