vicks, do we need to update any of our rules? I cant remember what issues popped up last year that need attention.

well, I remember my 'edited transaction' which had the 8:00am timestamp same as the other team's original post... I think we agreed that no 'edited' roster moves will be accepted if marked at the same time as an original post.

One of big keys was to put your team on the watch list, so the website auto scored you. It took five minutes a week to keep up.

We had eight active owners and just had to keep track of two.

Gotcha. Makes sense.

Nah, I understand. The guys who made it the whole season and the ones who tried to keep the other one afloat should make up the Premier League. If we have a "Championship" again, I'll take a spot there. I'm just not a fan of the salary cap and non-H2H systems.

I need to look at the draft date from last year as well as post all the information soon. It will be really simple to run. I have the entire spreadsheet with all of the information and the league rules as well as last year's season long thread bookmarked.

I need to create a TD Premier League trophy graphic. We have a league logo....why not a championship trophy and graphic?

It stayed strong the whole way. It never really lagged and was active every week and practically on a daily basis. People made transactions the whole season.

Hell, I have a spreadsheet and scored my team and my opponent for that week. It takes just a little prep upfront and then fairly minimal time and effort through the season.

I'm not trying to shake things up or anything but I was just wondering what everybody would think if we turned it into a keeper league. This may be a better topic for when we start the real thread but it was just something I thought a little about.

Vicks can keep Suarez, that's fine. Lock it in.

PS - the season crept up quickly, first weekend is Aug 16. Guess we should start the draft on Monday Aug 4.

My best every year always leaves for La Liga, so I vote no.

Two years ago: Bale (also Walcott balled out for me)
Last year: Luis Suarez

In reality, a keeper league would not work because of transfers in and out of the BPL. In any other fantasy sport (that I am aware of), your best players are always within the NFL, MLB, NBA, etc.

Plus, you draft differently for a keeper. It could not be enacted immediately even if the keeper option was viable.

Rules wise: I may have to fix up the winter transfer window rules. Not sure if I ever formally wrote those up. The time stamp 8:00 no edit rule will be put in stone. Good point.

I will put you on the waiting list when that is created.

Yeah, this system is honestly pretty great. Ten teams end up working pretty perfectly. The player pool is reasonable where rosters are neither super loaded, but also not barren. The schedule is excellent.

If a Championship works out, then we could do an FA Cup, maybe even League Cup, and some sort of playoff finale between the two (fake Champions League). However, I do not have much faith in the Championship even if you copy the spreadsheets again.

Don't kill me, but I don't think I want to do it this year. I was really half-assing it the second half of the season. My job involves many 12-hour days or more days between February and April so I don't think I have enough time to legitimately field a competitive team.

ETA: If you can get the league signed up on that site that WSE mentioned so I don't have to calculate my own score each week and look through every potential player that I want to pick up to see if he is already with another team, that might save time and I would still have enough time to do it.

Yeah this is a pain enough without you losing a keeper. Obviously you would get additional draft picks if your keeper gets transferred.

But if it causes more bad than good it's obviously not worth it. I was just spitballing.

Not bad to spitball, but I would raise hell if I lost Bale and Suarez in consecutive seasons.

I understand gMorgan. You still have time to reconsider. I don't I want to change to the site because I am able to manage everything very easy on here and with google docs.

I assume I have a spot? Was one of the few that played to the end (Well, almost. We all seemed to throw in the towel with a few weeks left).

Appreciate the support guys, I definitely will show up if there is a spot available.

I think a 12 team league could work if we need it. But after that, you'll be starting the Hulls RM just to try and get someone on the field.

Keeper leagues can work. I'm in keeper leagues for the EPL, Bundesliga and MLS on another website. But there's definitely a different way to approach a league like that. We're WAY too close to make a change there for this season.
