So, does Yedlin stay with Sunderland now that they're staying in the PL?

I hope so. His is a starter week in and out against top talent. I hope Sunderland buy him out.

I would love for him to. He has made great strides under Big Sam

It wasn't a loan to buy deal. Spurs just bought him. I'm sure they would like to see if he can become a spurs regular first.

Big Sam has been absolutely wonderful for him. He and Pva are fast as hell and Sam has actually taught them how to defend. Kone has been an absolute beast in the middle and if Kaboul stays fit he's very serviceable. Would be a pretty decent defense for him to be a part of under Sam.

Spurs pretty crowded at fullback as well.

I'd really like for him to. I want him playing regularly, and he's getting that at Sunderland. I think it's also been good for him to play in a system that is more substance than style. He's been learning to do the basic things really, really well.

Yes. I think the most likely scenario is he gets loaned right back to them

Fast, loves to get forward, plays a decent cross... he really is an ideal player for Pochettino's system.

At this point it's just whether or not Spurs think he can eventually progress enough to beat out the likes of Rose, Walker, Davies, and Trippier.

I would imagine that they would figure out a way for him to stay unless Spurs unload one of their full backs. I think he is probably better than Trippier but I'd rather him play first team minutes then sit behind the other 3 guys.

Agreed.
But in the thick of the season they rotated ALOT. Trippier got decent minutes this year for what he is.

True. After their Europa exit I don't think he saw the field at all though. Neither did Davies

Perhaps a dumb question from a BPL newbie: if you are on loan from another club do you sit out the game when the two teams play each other?

Yes, in league play that holds true. There are exceptions like when Chelsea met Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-final a few years ago. Courtois played against his parent club in that case.
