Not saying that that is wrong by any means, but it is definitely against the norm. If you don't mind me asking, how did you become a fan of the MLS?
I was in school in the Bay Area and actually attended the inaugural MLS game in San Jose with Wynalda scoring the winner. Been hooked with MLS since.
I always loved the European Cup tournaments and actually attended the Cup WInners CUp Final Arsenal played in Paris in 1995. I was backpacking and did not even know about it until I was in Paris and scalped tickets to get into the stadium!
With each passing year in my old age, I just have become really annoyed by these "american posers" in my mind who are members of the Man United and Chelsea fan clubs without having nothing to do with any of these cities. TO me, this seems completely pointless. I would rather suport somehing that is created in this country.
Obviously the best soccer is played in Europe but I would like it to change in my lifetime. :)

So why so interested in this topic then?
I don't know what this means.
I thought the thread was about Michael Bradley to MLS?

It means that you made an account yesterday and have used solely to post in this thread.
Just seems fishy.

I'll give you a boring story:
I was visiting family in ENgland in 2002 and we were siting in a pub on a weekday morning watching USA portugal. Eveyone was in a great mood acting like they were about to watch an excecution take place.
We score in the 7th minute and it was like don't worry, now Portugal will only win 6-1.
When it was 3-0 after thirty minutes, the entire pub was in complete silence while I was going apeshit. It was like everybody got a acute case of indigestion. I was really shocked. I thought everyone would really be happy for the US to finally start doing well, especially our cousins across the pond.
It really downed on me that day, that no one in Europe or South America actually wants the USA to do well in soccer.
They want us to be like China and India and watch Champions League games and buy Man United merchandise and take our arse kickings in the World Cup nicely and go home.

But people Europe don't at all think that way, regardless of country if you actually sit down with them and have an informed conversation on football and dont act like a prick they will tell you what the USMNT needs to improve and the players they like. Once they talk to an American who can hold their own talking football it insane the respect you will get.

That's partly true Homey. I admin. a Fulham group on Facebook. And every few days, someone takes a swipe at us Yanks. Then we hammer them using all the proper footie jargon; following that I usually post the "Not this shite Again" meme and tell them to sod off. They often back down, a little bit.
If they keep it up, I start deleting comments.
On one of your earlier posts, you mentioned building 50,000+ seat stadia. We're just now getting every club on board with a "soccer-specific" stadium. Dallas has been using theirs for American football, too. BOOOO.
But it'll take another 10-15 years before they will really need to start expanding these 20,000 +/- Like I've said, I hope it comes but they don't want to overshoot too early on where salaries or big venues are concerned. This was part of the NASL downfall.
