The team that won back to back titles over Bayern. I got lost going down a soccer highlight video rabbit hole this morning and wound up here. Man were those dudes fun to watch. So much young talent. If anyone else gives a shite, here you go.

This was when my dear, sweet Shinji Kagawa was at his best.

He used to an absolute beast on Fifa.

I miss it. No clue if he's still okay or not.

Went to United and died

Tends to be a trend with younger talent recently.

Yep. He was never the same. Even a move back to his daddy Klopp at Dortmund didn't help.

Moyes Ball broke him, to be specific. He tore it up at the end of SAF's final season (hat trick, several MOTM awards down the stretch), and he couldn't do a thing the next season.

Those squads were the result of a perfect storm of players at the right time. Gotze, Lewa, Kagawa, Kuba, Reus, Sahin, Hummels, Subotic, Schmelzer, Piszczek, Weidenfeller, Gundogan. None have really reached the heights of where they were during those years except Lewa and Reus, and Gotze to an extent. Weird.

If I'm not mistaken, that first title winning season was with Lucas Barrios as the #9, as well...

Yes sir. 49 goals in 102 appearances. Don't remember much of him but that is a nasty goals/appearances rate.

Just left a conference in New Orleans. One of the companies is raffling off a Dortmund jersey, since they are the shirt sponsor. I think I have a good chance of winning since there were only about 10 business cards in the box.

blistering pace. God they were fun to watch. this years squad is slowly starting to build that nasty counter attack again. about 2 months too late though. no way to catch Bayern. not making the UCL didn't help, but I'm afraid a major sell off is on the horizon

Slowly? They've been fantastic all year. I really hope they don't sell because I really want to see this attacking squad in CL next year.

I mean, he's not a star at Dortmund, but he's not playing poorly this season.

He's playing fine no clue what these guys are talking about.

Not at the level of those title winning Dortmund teams but he's still good.

No one said that he's shite now. He just isn't the player he was pre-United. "Fine" isn't what he used to be. He was a borderline world class offensive central mid. He left Dortmund and suddenly wasn't anymore. And he still isn't. So go away.

yes slowly. despite the fact that we lead the league in goals, it wasn't until a few weeks before the break that our sag was cohesive. the game against Gladbach was one of the best I've seen this year
