Pick Up Games - Baton Rouge - Wed Night - Independence Park

Does anyone know anything about what appears to be a pickup game at Independence Park on Wednesday evening? I get the impression it is a pick up game of some older guys but I am never sure since there are so many Hispanic games at the park during the week. I'd rather not show up expecting to play but then get awkwardly turned away due to it being more formal than just a pickup session.

Hispanics and native Africans are the WORST people to play pickup soccer with. Usually foul the most yet complain about any contact done to them.

I hate to generalize about a group of people, but this isn't far off. The worst is when you're with a group of mostly hispanics and arabs but they won't pass it to the white guy.

This thread may have been in vain as there are currently no lights on at independence Park. So maybe it's not an every Wednesday or the slight chill scared them off

They are t going to turn the lights on for pick up games. I know a few guys who play out there. It is not only Hispanics/true, African Americans, there are middle aged white dudes playing as well.

They ended up turning the lights on actually. Played from about 6-720ish then people started bailing. I was told it is designed for over 40 but clearly there were some mid30's guys. I knew a couple and got a pass since I was most likely the youngest guy out there as a low 30's.
