During his press conference this morning, he said he thinks it's the right time for Bayern to have a new coach and for him to move to England. There's more to it but I'm just piecing it together from several twitter sources.

He said he has multiple concrete offers in the Premier League but he has not accepted any job yet.

Still seems like Man City will be the front runner because of Txiki.

He might gut that squad. But they have the cash to spend. The front four would be fine, but after that can't see any of those guys being a good fit for his system

Pretty much anywhere he goes will see some player overhaul. City, United, Chelsea.

He could be turned off by United b/c they might be reluctant to spend big again, after two years of doing so.

He's taking over for Arsenal after Wenger rides off into the sunset with a league title.

A lot of the rumblings about Sane and Isco to City are apparently Pep's backdoor opinion.

Not sure how much I really believe that though, but who the frick knows when it comes to soccer these days.

Might be a pipe dream now that Zizu is managing Madrid.

This is my 7th year following club soccer, and I am still confounded by the manager carousel. I just don't get it. Maybe I am too ingrained in American sports, but I can't imagine a coach that is in the middle of the season talking about moving on to another club. Also, the way coaches just leave or are fired in the middle of successful campaigns makes no sense to me either.

Maybe I should appreciate how candid people are. It might make me less nervous about Sean Payton if he was as open as a soccer manager.

Everyone but the English media seems to be confident it's a done deal. I hope they're right.

how good is he really?

took over at barca, with a once in a generation talent on the roster, then went to bayern with a ton of talent.

I know not everyone can coach teams with a ton of talent. u have to get the big heads all to buy in.

could he win at hoffenheim? Pescara?

His players speak for him. He is an amazing coach.

He has had tons of talent, but he also chooses his guys. He knows what players fit his system and he does well maximizing potential. The deal on Sky a week or so with Henry was great. Henry said his philosophy is basically, "I get you to the final third and you do your thing there." He is REALLY good at that. Get the ball, keep the ball, move the ball up the pitch, and unleash 9 kinds of hell in the final third.

You rarely hear a player speak negatively of him.

Say whatever you want about the advantages he has had...but he hasn't not performed so far.

This makes me believe the importance of a Manager is overblown in soccer. I know there are some tactical decisions but the more important piece is confidence / motivating the team to play together.

Europe is notorious for putting the good looking white guy as the face of the franchise. The carousel just tells me that most Managers just aren't difference makers.

Of course there are exceptions, especially when you find the ugliest possible pictures of these guys.
