I do like this idea. After 90 minutes, each team gets another substitute. The fresher the legs, the more likely for a goal. I guess.

Why not plausible? Explain your thoughts if you don't mind. The more tired they get the more space on the field. These guys are some of the most fit in the world.
It would be back and forth.
Shoot even games like the US/ Algeria world cup opened up big time late and was very exciting. If penalties had been an option to determine a winner(for group advancement or had it been a knockbout stage games) there is no way that would happen.
The option of pks by default makes at least one team, if not both, blvery conservative.

Tv won't show a four hour game, if the winner has a game in two days they don't wanna be playing a four hour game, its not plausible in tournaments.

See my idea earlier in this thread. It still could present the same "time problem" though as it could drag on a while
ETA: Speaking of PKs though, did any of yall catch the league one playoff champ a month or so ago? Got all the way to the keepers taking. One buried it and the next guy sailed it over. It was awful up to that point too.

Tv shows 18 inning baseball games , 4 OT hockey playoffs, etc.
Give them a widow for commercials every 15 minute extra time break and tv would be fine.
I do understand the problem in tournaments but that just increases incentive to win quickly and be more aggressive.
There was a guy who did 50 marathons in 50 days in each of the 50 states and still posted a lot of respectable times. I think these guys and their subs can play another game three days later.
Give them a widow for commercials every 15 minute extra time break and tv would be fine.
