It's really not a big deal, though. Chelsea couldn't even qualify for Europe in Ligue 1 this season

I think it's a) more about what Chelsea represents than it is what kind of a year they are having domestically and b) I think despite league position they are still very capable and dangerous.

If PSG go into the game thinking oh we got these guys, they suck this year...they will get beat.

Chelsea doesn't really represent anything this season, though? What do you think beating Chelsea would mean? PSG could win 5-1 on aggregate and still get clobbered by a good team next round. Chelsea is not good. At all. Seriously.

Yeah not surprised at all if neither starts, I doubt either are fit enough for a full 90 mins of CL football. If we can get 60 out of one and 45 out of the other I'll be happy.

They still represent the group in Britan and the US that has been so slow to give PSG any credit for being a top side in Europe, I don't think there's any way to underestimate how big that game at Stanford Bridge last season was for the club and while PSG gained a lot of respect around the world from that game that hasn't gone away as of yet. Beating Chelsea again, regardless of what kind of season they are having, is still a big deal and still important. This would be true for any BPL side but Chelsea is the one PSG keep drawing.

You will gain no credit for beating Chelsea in the Champions League this year. Like it or not, it's not really an achievement.

PSG is a fine team. One of the top 6 or 8 in the world. I'm just telling you people on this board aren't going to suddenly respect PSG if they beat the worst Chelsea team of the 21st century. If you're expecting that, you're going to be very disappointed.

And I am just telling you no one in this thread is asking for that.

The teams that are here are here, and the draw is what it is. Chelsea's reputation is no different now than it was a season ago... the form they will have tomorrow should be tough surely. Just hope for some exciting soccer and a PSG win.

I would assume you are a Chelsea supporter? I mean, they are the club you root for?

PSG needs to beware.

It's fairly often that bigger teams filled with high priced star players in the midst of awful domestic seasons play much better in CL.

Add the "revenge" motivation and I think Chelsea will play a lot tougher that they have in some league matches unless PSG is able to jump up by some goals early.

That's what I'm saying. PSG need to come out and play like they have something to prove like they did last year.

I wish this was true. The 2011/2012 team did it, but that team had one of the best spines you could ever ask for (Cech, Terry, Lampard, Drogba). 2015/2016 team has Terry......... who isn't even fit to play tomorrow. PSG's midfield is going to play Chelsea off the pitch. I seriously have no expectations of any kind for the match tomorrow.

Are these the same thing?

I am completely aware of the Chelsea meltdown this domestic cycle... the Jose saga, sex tapes and injuries. It is still Chelsea.

Says a lot when the fan base tries to downplay how good the club still is.

It isnt like they are Newcastle D.S.

And it says even more when John Obi Mikel is your favorite team's best midfielder
