I think by not appealing he is begging for leniency... probably the right move..
I wonder if this changes our summer plans... IMO, One CB was a must.. I wonder if Klopp feels One CB + Matip and Lovren (Gomez, too) can hold down the fort until Mama is back... Probably depends on if its 6 month or more..
I think Skrtel and Kolo are gone... unless this changes things..

Even without Sakho, anyone else really excited for tomorrow?

In Klopp I trust. We'll put our best effort out there - and I'm hoping for a nice showing. 1-1 on the away leg seems to be our current standard. And I would take that.

Same here, 1-1 going back to Anfield would have me pretty confident.

I know zero about Villareal, but think we can compete... especially with Studge up top...
I'll have to record it..

With Sturridge coming into form and the way Coutinho's played outside of last Sunday, I like our chances for one of those guys to pull off something from nothing.
I've maybe seen Villareal twice this year but have read some analysis leading up to this match. Obviously they're good at defending and stay pretty compact with two banks of 4 when they don't have it. They're pretty good on the counter with Bukambu, but they've got a decent midfield and can control some possession and buildup off of Soldado and the wings if they want to.
I wouldn't be surprised to see either Firmino or Lallana sit to start and go with Milner, Lucas, and Allen to give us a little more flexibility with one of Milner or Allen playing higher up to press they're back 4 and force some mistakes, or pack the midfield to help Lucas and sit him right in front of Soldado to help the 2 CB's. Should be pretty interesting from a tactical perspective

The two banks of four don't bother me as much as they did under Rodgers, I feel like the way we've played (for the most part) under Klopp shows we can break down compact defenses at least once or twice, it's just a matter of converting when we get that chance.
If this leg ends exactly like the QF at 1-1, I'd be thrilled.

That's partly why I think Klopp might try to go with the 4-2-3-1 like usual to try and press higher up and make something happen against them in transition, but still a risky strategy on the road in the semifinals. I guess we'll see tomorrow

30 days while Uefa investigates. It's probably only the beginning for him.

yeah, what I read was after the 30 days, it will most likely be an additional 5 or 11 months..

Listening to the under pressure podcasts from Anfield Index (which I highly recommend for our pressing stats, etc.).
Ojo has been a tremendous presser in the last few PL games he's played. Second on the team in presses per minute and very disciplined.
For the Bournemouth game - Ojo had 38 presses and Ibe had 12 - which tells you why Ojo has played more recently.
For a young talented guy, hearing about his work-rate gives me a lot of faith in his future and ability to fit the squad the way Klopp wants to play.

Yeah, He's been really bright lately for sure... wonder if he gets the start today or comes on as a sub again?

Firmino has not been good today, not sure why he got the start over Sturridge
Posted on 4/28/16 at 3:57 pm to Tigerfan7218
Was about to come praise Kolo, Lucas and Lovren... and then Kolo fricks it up at the death
Posted on 4/28/16 at 4:00 pm to Tigerfan7218
I love Klopp and what he has done thus far but to not field a striker at all is actually unbelievable to me.

Even if you want to rest Sturridge for a little while, it was apparent at halftime that Firmino was giving us nothing up front and was having a shite game, shouldn't have played him the 2nd half

Hard to score goals without a striker.
Honestly not too upset about this one. Yeah, a 0-0 result or at least an away goal would have been nice, but this isn't something we can't overcome next week at Anfield with a better selection of players. I agree with the decision not to risk Sturridge, and for bringing Coutinho off at half.
Everything to play for next week!

I knew we were screwed when I saw he was going with Firmino. He hasn't been in-form for quite a while now. Then we just kept crossing it in. To who?
