European clubs, with a few exceptions, are not American sports franchises. Trying to compare the two is utterly pointless.

They're walking out because the most expensive seats are $110 per game. They are referring to these on football boards as "extortionate" prices.
They'd go into culture shock at American college football and professional sports games.
"Football without fans is nothing!" they said. Then, post-game, those same fans were like "They didn't lose because of the fans! Don't blame us!"
Yeah, it was just a coincidence that everything went to shite mere minutes after your precious protest. OK.
Typical Euro socialist "keep giving me shite" mentality IMO.
this guy has no idea what he is talking about

He was pissed off, I know that I say some stupid arse things when I get upset.

Comparing the american franchise model to the euro club model does not work for so many reasons.
I saw Bleed has already hit on some. But when people try to compare them its just lazy and uneducated.

Lazy is a stretch, since most people are actually American on this board and have grown up in our sports culture... ignorant of the way sports culture is in England, I'll give you...
I think it's a tough balance, because like it or not (which I'm sure a lot of supporters don't), the sport and their clubs are very much a global entity... and that comes with a price..
I'm not saying they are wrong for protesting... I get it. But also, what Ive read a bit is... £77 is the upper end tier in the new main stand... there are more affordable seats through out the stadium.
I have a feeling the owners will cave to a degree... I'll be interested to see how much.. Obviously, they can't afford to lose the community and core of the club.

There are something like 200 £77 seats a game. There has been a lot of emotional reaction to what is basically a non story. Many tickets stayed the same or went down. About half went up.
The true problem is that there are people who have likely been going in the same seats for years who now may be priced out of that specific seat - but they could possibly get seats in other areas for even cheaper than they were paying.
One guy was saying that his dads season ticket is going from £870 to 980 - neither of which sounds bad to me and doesn't seem like a huge jump - but he said his dad was thinking of not renewing because it was too expensive. His dad should just eat out twice less that year and he'd break even.
I think this is a very emotional and reactionary move - a lot of it due to people wanting to take a stand, all happening at the same time that everyone is aware of a coming huge increase in tv money.
In the end - alienating the fans and further diluting the atmosphere can't be worth the estimated £2m in additional revenue that would occur.
Hell they should just jack up the day tripper hospitality tickets another £30 each - I'd gladly pay when I make it to Liverpool.

Well I say lazy bc if your going to support a club you should educate yourself on its sports culture

How much is FSG really making by raising ticket prices? An extra 2 million a year? Is that really worth pissing off the locals for? Save some money by getting rid of their transfer committee and cyber metrics bs and quit over spending for shite players.

We need to work on defending set pieces, cause that was atrocious...
Although, losing may not be the worst thing in the world, it'll at least cut our fixture list a little bit

The most typical Lucas play ever
Posted on 2/9/16 at 4:48 pm to tsmi136
Damn, that was hard to stomach. All I can say is, our play was on another level with Sturridge out there. IF he can stay fit, he, firmino, and coutinho together is something to look forward to.

Guy felt a hand on his back and took a dive. It happened all match.

Yep, it sucks to lose that way, but I had a feeling it was coming given our set piece defense this year... My goals for the rest of the season (in order):
1. Win the Cap. One Cup
2. Have a good showing in Europa (would really like to see them win it, but that may be asking a bit much).
3. Just finish in the top half of the table, I mean honestly top 4 is out of reach

1. Literally, and in complete and total seriousness: that was the worst refereed game i've seen since I started following soccer at 8 years old. Abysmal is the epitome of an understatement.
2. I can't put into words how much I want Benteke to frick right off. I don't have the creativity or the lexicon. He's one of the worst strikers I've seen in a red shirt.

A-fricking-men... I mean how many times have we seen him in alone on goal and NOT score? Seriously, I can think of 4 or 5 off the top of my head
Posted on 2/9/16 at 6:12 pm to Tigerfan7218
He does the same exact thing each time he is in that situation. That is why he is not scoring in them, along with not getting very good passes into that situation.
Even so, he still should score. 0-for- however many is unacceptable.

I think his confidence is down the drain right now... I never thought he was a goo fit for us, but some of his play has just been terrible... Ive seen him do much better.
That doesn't change my opinion that we need to move him on...
