He has a point. I think we grossly miscalculated the transfer market appeal and are still acting like novices with recruitment and bringing in guys.

Rodgers is now saying we need two big signings this summer to improve the squad. Damn Brendan - if you had just been able to sign two good players last summer, maybe we wouldn't be in this position.

Now you expect to be able to do it with no CL, less funds, and a cloud over your head?

Of course, he's also saying we will challenge for the league next year.

Klopp will turn us down.

I'd rather have Benitez on the job than watch Brendan fumble and frick around on the job.

He's already lost the team. That much is clear.

A change has to be made.

Would Klopp turn us down?

He has expressed disdain for Bayern Munich because they are a power and spend freely. City is much worse than Bayern so I don't see that as an option.

We have a solid foundation, outside of the past couple years haven't splashed insane amounts of money (a lot, but not insane) and have an above average youth system. We are also a bit of a project as well and I feel Klopp would be tempted to take it on.

I'm not saying it will happen but I don't think one could say
quote:

Klopp will turn us down.
that easily.

Now, this also depends on how badly FSG want to win. Keeping Brendan is essentially the same thing as buying younger players with an eye on the future, and we have seen how that has worked out. Getting Klopp will tell me FSG are serious about winning RIGHT NOW, not hoping it all comes good with a few younger guys who will be class in 3-5 years.

I think Klopp loved being the manager of Dortmund. He loved the on the pitch job, he loved the incredible supporters, he loved the atmosphere of a truly historic stadium ( sound familiar). The only issue was toiling for cheap owners and I think he finally wanted to work for a competent owner or owners who wanted to build a club the right way and not just buy trophies. I believe this sounds like us and I think Jurgen Klopp understands that LFC is the same feeling as Dortmund with solid ownership, expansion and a worldwide brand. I also think it's not a sell out like City, United or Chelsea where money is thrown around like man hole covers much like Bayern.

I definitely think we meet his criteria for a club, but timing is everything... I know FSG can be shrewd, but I have a feeling they may be willing to give Rodgers one more year... That's not to say, that JK may also have an offer he fancies more, as well.. Even if we were to get rid of BR..

I don't think it's the end of the world if we keep him, but it would absolutely be a sink or swim season if we did...

That said, I'd do all I could behind the scenes to see if Klopp was willing to come... And ultimately, if we end up keeping him, we may never really know if we pursued Klopp or not..

Coming from a Yankee family I am painfully aware that FSG is usually pretty smart about their business dealings. This group launched Francona when he lost the team and the perfect fit was willing to be their manager. I know it's different sports but it's something to think about.

Liverpool and PSG have moved ahead of Man U for Depay's services, according to reports.

Not even going to get excited. I'm just going to assume we send Ian Ayre in to negotiate for weeks, and the end result will be he signs for Utd. It happens every time.

I believe that report is from psv which only means that we are in contact with them more. Doesn't mean Memphis is leaning to us etc.

So... That means two things

Man U is still checking into the price of bale and others ahead of Memphis on their board.

Man U will let us do the dirty work and set a market price with psv. They can then later decide to pay it or not.

Also Sturridge may get surgery in US for his hip.

Flano just got another knee surgery that will keep him out 6-9 months.

Balo out this weekend with a foot injury.

Rodgers is happy with the transfer committee and thinks they do a great job.

Pretty much zero good news coming out lately - and what sounds good is transfer talk rumors. Runors that we have spent the past few years getting burned on.

Is it lambert time or false 9 time?

On the bright side Cou looked great at the false 9 spot

No chance we sign Depay.

We have proven time and time again we will get beaten out by any of the big boys for any of these signings.

It's really shocking considering the way the Red Sox go after targets... Polar opposite.

How infant?

I have lived through Owen, Torres, Alonso, Mascherano, Suarez etc etc.

Not to mention the countless targets we've completely wiffed on that went on to achieve great things. The first one being Cristiano.

Sorry man, I'm also a hog fan so it's in my nature.

I became a fan when Hendo and Cou put two benders in the corner to beat City 2 months ago to the date. I could feel the atmosphere through the TV, and I was hooked.

So like embryo infancy.
