Will be very interested to see today's lineup since guys like Stevie are back and available. Studge has been underwhelming overall since his return and I can almost see a starting XI without gerrard or Daniel. Couple of great options off the bench though. I guess gerrard will also depend a bit on allens knock.
As for flano - I was hard on him early in the year last year, but watched him close and he grew on me. He is not a starting XI guy for where we want to be - but a defensive guy that can play left or right is big - especially since Johnson is likely leaving. I don't think flano offers much in front of goal , but there were multiple goals scored last year where he made a cut upon receiving the ball, and then made an incisive pass to beat the high press. Not ideal as a wingback but not as much of a liability as some believe. If we have European ball, he should start 10-15 games a year and sub in about 10 more as a defensive replacement. If he's happy with that and we have academy loyalty wages, I'm all for him staying. Plus he's good in a 4 man back line in case we revert or need that formation.

I don't think Stevie starts today honestly, the last few weeks have made me pretty confident that we can certainly move on without him next year

I have a feeling Stevie will play as long as he is healthy. As long as he is moderately close to the goal and not a DM, I am fine with it... especially with both Allen and Lucas having knocks.
Also, I want to see Balo more. As always. With Studge in a slump, put Balo up top along with Lallana in a 3-5-2. Free up both of them and regain some striking confidence with our forwards.
Seeing that we are playing Swansea, I definitely want to see this.

Doesn't matter who we play up top.
We can count on Jonjo to give us a goal.
And agreed on Stevie, he should NOT jump right back into the team. A cameo at 60-70 up top would be okay with me.
Do not want him anywhere near the back line where he will be standing and walking around.

Match begins in 30 mins, correct?
Haven't seen a lineup... Hard to find with work filters. I am lucky to get on TD.

Definitely need all 3 points to keep pace and set up a huge showdown next weekend.

Mignolet
Can Skrtel Sakho
Moreno Sterling Allen Hendo
Lallana
Studge Coutinho
Bench: Markovic, Gerrard, Johnson, Jones, Lambert, Toure, Lovren
WHERE has Balo been lately? Sees a bunch of success and then doesn't make the bench for a spell. This is confusing and frustrating. Still don't think we lose or draw. Easy 3 pts here if you ask me.
ETA: Unsure of actual formation... just a guess.

Toure, Lovren and Johnson all on the bench with no Balotelli?
With Sturridge out of form that is a total WTF move.

Lambert scored against them last game didn't he? I guess that's a positive?

I am thinking 2-0 at the end of it all. Maybe 3. We HAVE to be hungry after that Burnley game, or else our hopes for a top 4 finish may be dashed due to a loss of confidence.
ETA: Via text commentary, glad to see Hendo fouling Shelvey early in the match. I can't stand that turd...

Ugh, it was very ugly, but hey it's 3 more points and our 2015 form continues to be remarkable...
Migs was great once again.
Huge game next Sunday now

I was able to watch after all (kinda)... Migs MOTM by a mile... kept us in it, while we sorted things out...
A little worried about Man U this weekend, with the last 2 flat performances and their good one this past weekend... Now is the time to step up!!!

Our matches for me have now reached a point on par with LSU games. It's not so much fun as it is painful. Whatever BR said at halftime needs to be bottled. As for Balo Byrd I have reached a point where I just think BR is done with him and when the season ends there will be a "come to Jesus" moment and we'll see. It seems that he is disappointed with his work rate , I don't know, I was always hoping that Balotelli and Sturridge could be a potent combo up top but it looks like that won't happen.

Migs was absolutely incredible. As was Joe Allen. He's quickly becoming the most important outfielder outside of Cou.

I thought that was Lallana at first, with that fancy footwork in the box towards the end..

Ironically Lallana was awful. I'm a big fan of his, but he needs to wake up. I'm tired of his on again off again performances.

I think migs has really made some progress. I do want someone else in to push him and provide cover, but he has done a great job improving his liabilities in the last two months. And he retains a top form as a shot stopper.
6 freaking road clean sheets in a row. Would never have dreamed that our defense of the last three years was capable of that.
Whole team was much better in the second half and I loved that nbcs highlighted the passing exchange at 52 minutes that really changed the game.
I had some trouble telling exactly what formation we were in with gerrard on - looked almost like a 3-3-2-2 with sterling playing higher up and wide.
Back 3s worst performance in awhile - interesting in that it came with the first reunion of the back three that really started this all. I think Swanseas press had a lot to do with it.
Huge game coming up new can afford a draw but a loss would likely be devastating. Given how studge has looked, do u consider starting sterling up top?
