When we had a ton of fixtures I understand that guys need a break, but we haven't played in damn near three weeks, those guys should be fresh

I think the break was too long... we needed to play again and keep the momentum going after Spurs..

Maybe, but gah this is just so frustrating... I guess if we finish 6th and United makes top 4 we're in Europa again so there's that, but no way this team is finishing top 4, just not happening considering all the terrible teams we still have to play

Ugh.

I'm feeling the same about LFC as Arkansas Football. Just don't give a shite anymore.

This sucks to watch.

y'all wanna hear a depressing stat?

Liverpool is unbeaten in league play against the other 9 teams in the top 10 of the table.

all 5 losses and 2/7 draws have come against the bottom of the table

We will know ALOT more about our immediate direction after the summer window. We must get some serious quality this summer. I'm not even gonna go over what we need again, it never changes.

Sorry but Lucas and Milner and a high line against vardy is just stupid. Zero chance those guys can keep up. Klopp apparently can't figure out any other way to play and we keep paying for it.

ETA - from what I've read klopp always does this - keeps it his way as he figures out who can't play that system. It just means some struggles on the front end.

Yeah, which is what I have to keep reminding myself (especially seeing as this is only his first full year in charge).

Gotta figure Lucas, Can, Sturridge, Moreno, and maybe Milner are on the way out this summer at the very least (and Migs of course).

The upcoming transfer window will be very telling of what Klopp is made of. Reinventing the midfield and getting a solid striker is deperately needed. A new GK certainly wouldn't hurt anything.

If we don't get starting LCB, LB and GK I'm going to lose it!! Not counting a speedy winger or two and an actual tough arse Defensive Mid.

Non Football question related to Liverpool:

I have a co-worker who is retiring soon. He is from Liverpool. What are some popular spirits from that city (or part of the UK) that would give him a feeling of home? When you ask him what he likes, he replies with the "you don't have to get me anything" line. So, I need some ideas. Thanks!

Well, there is a gin distillery in the city. But not everyone is keen on gin. Do you know if he likes scotch whisky? I could make a few recommendations if that is the case.

good question, the truth is that the party is tomorrow. Whatever suggestions you have, I was hoping to find them at Spec's in Houston. If not, my plan B was an Australian Gag Gift.

Fair enough. If you want to go with a blended whisky I pretty much will only drink Chivas Regal, preferably the 18 year. I find it has the most variety, and best quality as far as blends go. In my opinion, of course.

Now, if you want to venture into the wonderful world of single malts, I would suggest starting with a nice smooth Speyside such as Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, Aberlour, Balvenie, or Glenfarclas. All of these should be fairly affordable. My standby is the Glenlivet 15 as it is aged in french oak casks as opposed to the sherry & bourbon casks they use for their 12 & 18 year. The 18 year will be heavier on the sherry, as their ratio (according to what their tour guide told me last fall) is about 65/35 sherry/bourbon. They will split the batch, age separately in sherry or bourbon for a short time, and then marry the two back together to be aged again before bottling. The french oak, which I prefer, will have more vanilla / woodsy flavor notes while the sherry will give you more of the fruitiness.

If you want be a little more daring, consider something a more robust in terms of flavor... Talisker 10, Caol Ila 12, or Oban 14. These will have a bit more of that smokiness, peat, iodine, and salt water flavor that scotch is more known for, but without hitting you over the head with it like, say Lagavulin. Or bludgeon you with it the way Laphroaig will.

Lately I found myself gravitating to the more astringent tastes of the Islay or Highlands as opposed to the smoothness of the Speysides, but they all have their place.
