I really only fault Karius for that one...

I think this was the concern all along... what will happen when injuries hit us.. we don't have the quality depth at this point. I'm sure we'll bounce back and I'll be happy if we finish top 4 and maybe a cup... this month (and Jan) will be tough..

I have a feeling we'll be disappointed when the Jan window shuts, but He has to sort out the back line in the summer and get a little more quality depth... especially, if we are in Europe next season..

I cannot believe that we still have that kind of defensive performance in us. I was hoping days like this were over, of course did you see who we started on our back four?! Can we please go get some real defenders in January? We have a real shot here but not with the way our defense is currently set up especially with an injury or two.

We had a howler. It happens

Think we needed a good wake up call cause we were looking complacent

I just hope Matip and Mané don't have serious injuries

I don't even know how. How can you look like the best team in England going forward and a U16 select girls side in defense?

I almost literally cannot fricking believe this. If i didn't just watch it I would tell the person who told me to frick off and hit him in the sternum.

Yep. The sky isn't falling. We'll be fine. Teams lose games....even ones competing for the title. The fact of the matter is we've made it to December with two losses in the league and only 3 draws. We're the real deal, despite the abortion that was yesterday.

I'm still not even sure what to say.

I think Karius could have done better on two of the goals.

I think Lovren only plays well when he's protected with a good LB and a good RCB. Take one of those away, and he's a complete liability. He's a potential liability at any moment even with those beside him.

Just my opinion - but I'd go after Van Dyck or whoever you have slated as your number 1 CB to partner with Matip in January. Lovren can be the fist sub there (Matip has proven to have a few injury issues) until Gomez supplants him. I may also rather Ragnar be the first LCB (though I think Klopp rates Lovren only at LCB which is why Lucas played yesterday).

I'd rather our losses be the Burnley type - I hate wasting a day we scored 3 goals. It undermines confidence in the defense and the players in their roles.

Well there was that one time 12 years ago , but yeah I agree, we'll be okay, it'll be key to bounce back this weekend against West Ham

All that matters is top 4. That's all I want this season

I agree. Once we lock down Europe, players will be falling over each other to come to Liverpool. I'm astounded we're competing for a domestic title without the necessity of European football. Honestly, before this season began no one gave us a shot at top 4, much less a title. We're overachieving in a huge way.

, I mean it's a part of history whether we like it or not (and I'd much rather it be part of Arsenal's history than United, Chelsea or Evert... oh I can't even type that one without laughing)

Yea. And we finished 8th last season

Obviously, we want to keep winning and try to stay in the title race, but the goal was always top 4 so no reason to stand to close to the ledge yet.

Just out of curiosity, and positions and/or names of players everyone hopes we bring in over the January window?

I really think we need a starting CB, I'd like a solid outside back, and maybe another true forward.

Honestly, I'm not sure

January windows aren't usually too active and not a time that you pull big names.

I'm kinda with TFTC in that I doubt we'll see much action. Maybe an attacking option (Azmoun?) with the injuries and Mané being gone

We have one, his name is Mamdou Sakho and if he would pull his fricking head out of his arse maybe we could watch him partner with Matip and wreck shop.

That said, we've been linked with Van Djyk, and he certainly look like the real deal, but man, he's expensive.

With Coutinho injured, Mane leaving, and Firmino, Lallana, and Studge dealing with niggling issues, I think he'll move for another attacker as well.

I have resigned myself to the fact, Sakho's ship has sailed. I think VVD would be at the top of the list for CB replacement. I would pay whatever it took... considering we paid 20mm for Lovren... easily double that..

Matip and VVD would give us 2, 25 yr old CBs that are both comfortable in possession, with the latter being on the cusp of world class..

I hope we bring a wide attacker... But, its been said, we wont bring in a stop gap... the signings would need to figure into a more long term strategy..

Maybe a loan is possible? not sure who fits that profile..

VVD and Matip at the back would make me happy... I know he's pricey, but it'd be so worth it to be rid of Lovren as a starter

I'll say it. I'm not sold on Van Dijk in our system
