Garber, "Without the League, the US player pool would be diminshed."

eth Vertelney ?@svertgoalcom 5m5 minutes ago
Garber just said "frustrating as hell." The man is cheesed off #MLS

MLS commissioner Don Garber, " Jurgen Klinsmann comments are detrimental to the League."

What a sissy. How are you not going to criticize players? What is Klinnsman supposed to do, just leave off Bradley (example) at some point but never give an explanation of why?

Garber sounds like a private school daddy telling his son's coach not to say mean things to them.

That's not a criticism of what he's saying, but how he's saying it. He's got to stick up for MLS. He could sound less like a baby back bitch though.

Yep

Or since we are dependent on the league for our pool, instead of shitting on it publicly, maybe support and try to rouse up some interest in it to get more fan interest and money into it. The better the league, the better our NT will be. And if you want our best players to play elsewhere, then have that conversation in private

I definitely understand why Garber would be upset and he should defend the league he's the commissioner of.

But Klinsmann is right. Watching the Premier League and Major League Soccer is night and day. If the US ever wins a World Cup, part of the reason is that they'd have more players playing in the European League instead of dominating a small pond of a league the MLS is.

Also, I trust Klinsmann more on soccer matters than Garber. He won a World Cup as a player with Germany and was a big reason why Germany won the World Cup this year.

If there is one consistent thing that JK has done during his USMNT tenure, it's that he always seems to contradict himself.

And not call up players from the fricking NASL.

To be fair, I'm sure he tried this, they clearly didn't listen and now he's just pissed.

As much a I hate to do it I'm leaning more towards Klinsmann.
It's not Klinsmanns job to run or prop up the MLS. He has the USMNT, and to tell the truth probably has helped the MLS out by giving some call ups that could have gone to European players.

On the other side, though MLS is what it is. A new league, and anyone that seriously compares it the the BPL or top five leagues in Europe is crazy. At the same time I would put MLS above more than half the European leagues if we look all teams top to bottom.
