leaving Chandler to cover about 80 yards of the entire left channel - something he's already proven once (against Turkey) that he can't handle.

To be fair to him, he's not a LB either.... can't put together why he has played there so often for us.

Garza should be good there but he did get burned by Shane Long on that one long ball.

When it comes down to it this was just a friendly. As long as we don't struggle in WCQ idgaf about how many friendlies we win/lose.

That being said, 4-1 to Eire is fricking embarrassing af and needs to have an impact on SOMETHING idk what exactly but God damn this result is unacceptable regardless of friendly/WCQ/WC/GC etc...

It really is. I feel like it shows how much those MLS guys that were sent home make us better, which is a good thing. Our European players playing like this is what's scary. People like Jozy just need to go where they'll get minutes instead of being picky.

I'm hung over as frick waiting on my flight back.

Besler was just awful

I dunno what mix was doing last night other than the goal.

We lacked anyone who could control the midfield

And last night just reafirmed my hate for wondo dude is hot garbage it was like playing a man down out there with him.

After reading this thread I've come to the conclusion Bhoy is a traitor and a full on count he should be banned from all
US national team talk and support

Awesome post. Well said.

SCH at least Wondo got an assist. Without the clever header it's 4-0.

I know but outside that he pretty much was a ghost

It was very frustrating to watch. Lots of infighting in our section arguing about players. People getting butt hurt over being critical of players.

We dominated long stretches of the match and they would just counter us. No excuse Ireland having more pace than us.

I'm still hung over and I woke up with a slice of papa johns in my bed

Long is one of the most underrated players in the world, so that's not too bad.

For a team that's supposed to be dead set on high level fitness why do we look 2 steps slower in the 2nd half almost every game? Pretty frustrating

Wondo - good header, but his touch was that of a bulldozer up to that point

Midfield - dominated again in the 2nd half. Mix disappeared and we couldn't maintain possession for shite

Besler - fell asleep on the first goal. No clue what he was thinking

Chandler - continue to not be impressed by him at all

Fabian - is he slightly hurt or something? He doesn't seem to be as quick and explosive as we have seen from him before

Because our fitness isn't good at all. And some people think we can play Klopp's system

Obviously, my opinion is that Jurgen shouldn't be replaced because, frankly, he doesn't deserve to be.

At this point, no he doesn't deserve to be. If we don't show improvement between now and the end of the Gold Cup, it will certainly be time to question the direction of the team. I think we can question that now, and I hope that JK is asking himself some tough questions or alternatively, knows something we don't know about what he's attempting to do in this post WC period.

He got one of the most insane runs in US Soccer history for us.

This is the national team, man. What happened last year doesn't matter. He needs to show evidence that we are moving in a positive direction. That would be true if his name was Jurgen Klopp or Pep Guardiola.

Most of all, he wants us to hold ourselves to a higher standard

I'm still a fan of his for these sorts of reasons, and I think there's a place for him in US Soccer whether or not he's the manager. I just want him to hold himself to that higher standard too, and if something isn't working, change it.

Do you seriously think fitness is something that's inherited and not acquired?

And fyi, Seb Kehl has 0 good knees and he does it.

I agree completely with both of these statements. There's no denying it. There needs to be changes. I believe there will be when it matters. If things don't improve, I'm all on board with doing what's best for the program.

Does anyone know why we are easier to score on in the last ten minutes of a game than a college freshman at a Halloween party?

Because we don't play or move well as a unit. We end up getting too stretched which means constant 60 yard sprints to try to cover your or a teammate's mistake so when the last few minutes come around we're usually 1) trying to attack for a goal 2) tired as frick from sprinting all god damn afternoon.

When you're tired, you do stupid shite. When you're out of position because you're stupid, other teams can run into space and our defenders aren't good enough to save us from that.

Yeah our positioning and tactical awareness seems to be pretty shitty, and I think that falls on the coaches a bit.

If you really want to be picky about it, Bob lost 5 in a row in 2007 to Argentina, Paraguay, Colombia, Sweden, and Brazil. When's the last time Jurgen lost 5 in a row? I can't recall that happening.
