So, Dortmund officially want Shinji back, no surprises there, now we just need to work this deal out so we get Hummels or Reus in return.

Reus has reportedly refused a new contract offer from Dortmund. Let's take him in return.

Hell, Grosskruetz would be an excellent pick up as a wingback/utility player.

This move came right where we were sitting. It's awesome to see all that develop when you can see the whole field.

If anyone wasn't aroused after that passage then might need to check your pulse.

Also, best thing I saw at the match last night was a guy holding up a yellow sign that just said "VIDAL."

(There's more rumors from Chilean papers today that the move is happening. He's agreed to terms! The Daily Star and the Metro are also reporting it!)

That would be huge.

A bit off topic, but...

Fletcher has been very good this preseason. It would be a massive boon to United's midfield if he could return to his pre-illness form.

Absolutely. We would still want another top CM, but Fletcher would be huge for depth. He did a great job last night commanding the field and barking out instructions for some of the young guys in the second half.

And Ander Herrera is quickly becoming one of my favorites. The amount of field he covered in just one half was incredible. Dude doesn't stop hustling.

ETA: And another thing...Ashley Young, future wing back? He's got the offside trap down pat.

in that position, with all your attacking players, you just gotta hope he doesn't shite the bed covering the back 3.

Herrera might end up being the premier league signing of the year. He just has an immense amount of talent, and it was evident after the first 10 minutes of the Galaxy game.

I think Young proved he could play LWB in a pinch. Not ideal, but certainly not the end of the world either.

The best thing about Herrera is that he is so technical that he makes a lot of the hard stuff look easy. And he covers so much ground he creates a lot passing options that weren't there last season.

Through balls, switching the field, linking up with Mata in attack, providing quality defensive cover.

He's an all around midfielder, no doubt about it.

If United are going to keep him, that's where he'll have to play. I don't see him turning into a striker in this system like LvG wants to do with Zaha and Nani.

What are everyone's thoughts on Tyler Blackett? I thought he played well last night and has been impressive in spurts this tour.

I thought Blackett's distribution was really good last night. He looks the part and I think he will develop into the CD role well. Apparently, LVG likes both him and Keane. Spoke highly of them both after the game last night.

Also, LVG spoke highly of Kagawa last night as well. So, maybe those reports of him wanting to sell were bullshite. He wants to change his position though: "Kagawa was a no. 10 at Dortmund but I want to try him at no. 6 or no. 8
