GOAL DOT COM REPORTING

Arturo Vidal says he does not know if he will stay at Juventus but has ruled out a move to Manchester United.

(...)

"I don't know if I will stay at Juventus, I'm happy here in Turin," he told Sky Italy.

"I will talk with Allegri on Monday. I'm not going to Manchester."

MUTV made sure to tell everyone that the player numbers were not confirmed so don't go buying player kits yet

Unfortunately, most of the stuff I've read from creditable sources lately has said he was never a real target for United. Who knows if that's just the story now being told from the inside since it's fallen through or if the idea was always drummed up by eager "journalists."

Either way, I think the Vidal link is dead in the water.

Too late. You gotta take advantage of a deal like that.

I also have a Valencia #7 jersey, so I'm not the best with numbers.

I've seen multiple reports, for a week or so now, saying that he's not a priority for LvG. More of a fanbase pipe dream.

De Vrij and Blind are his real, realistic marks. I think he wants Hummels, I just don't know how easy it will be for them to convince BvB to sell. It would take some major $$$, no doubt about it.

How much are brooms in Germany because I'll buy one for him?

Do you see LvG staying with the current crop of CMs, Jed? I know Vidal is a long shot, but...

If the season started tomorrow, I think LvG would go with the 11 he trotted out last night, slotting in RvP for Welbeck.

-----------RvP----Rooney-----
----------------Mata--------------
Shaw-Herrera-Fletcher-Valencia
----Evans--Jones--Smalling-
----------------De Gea----------

There's a logjam behind Mata, and there's practically no depth at CM, CB, or LWB. That starting 11 could easily contend for the top 4. The problem is that injuries happen.

No, I think they sign another CM this summer. I don't really know who it's going to be. Does he intend to use Blind there? De Jong's name pops up every once in a while too.

On the surface, Vidal would be a grandslam, but for whatever reason I just don't think he's the man LvG wants.

If they're really willing to "break the transfer record" as Woodward claims, you give Juve an offer they can't refuse for Pogba.

And then you pay him whatever he wants, Rooney money if need be.

Alexi Lalas earlier. He is always preaching about how MLS is just as good as any league in the world but doesn't have the same exposure as other leagues so its players aren't glorified on the same level.

Yeah, his jimmies are rustled

I'd be all over that, if Pogba is willing to come back.

Blind can play LWB and a bit of DM. Would be a great versatile purchase.

16.25 BST Reports in France claim that Monaco and Manchester United are preparing to battle it out for Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan.

The Turkey international is rumoured to be one of the names on Louis van Gaal's shopping list and it could come down to which side offers the highest wages, with the Spanish champions valuing Turan at around 20 million pounds.

EspnFc.

He'd be a good replacement for Nani/Young.

Bebe gone. Finally

Well that was a waste of time

Maybe the worst United signing besides Djemba-Djemba.

ETA: I looked up SAF worst buys, and Dong Fangzhou is probably the worst player ever at United.

It breaks my heart, but I'm officially out on Kagawa too. Send him back to Dortmund with cash and bring us Hummels. He's too valuable an asset to have as a third choice number 10.

He played well towards the end of last year and I still have a great deal of respect for him as a player, but in the end he came into a bad situation, and now he's become a surplus.

I still think he can start. He can play on the left mata in the middle and Valencia (or Nani if we have to) on the right.

I think Kagawa looked good in the last game playing behind the No. 10. He is an LVG type of player - technical and can hold possession. I'm still in on Kagawa and hope he'll get consistent time this season. Both in the hole and centrally in behind.
