Since van Gaal took up his role as Manchester United manager, the Dutchman has implemented a whole host of changes in the club’s training regime.

New pitches and new cameras have been installed at the club's training ground in Carrington while there is greater use of video analysis than before.

"David Moyes would have looked at videos a lot so we got a bit of that from last year. Now we are looking at things in greater detail.

"That is the standard he has set for us. It is everything from the clothes you wear to the time you have a meal and everyone eating together.

"He is quick to congratulate you when you have done well and is also quick to tell you when you have done something wrong."

"I didn't know him a lot because I was really young when he was Barcelona's coach, but he had a really good relationship with my grandfather, the former vice-president of the club.

"I had the chance to see him one day at my grandfather's house when I was 12 or 13 years old.

"He arrived at the house and he knew I was playing for the Barcelona youth team. He pushed me and I fell to the floor, and he said 'you are not tough enough to be a centre-back'.

Funny thing yesterday was how Keith Costigan just got done saying "Young hasn't really gotten into the pace of the game at LWB," and he finishes that beautiful team sequence shortly after that.

Ha when I heard Costigan say that I thought "what the fack game is he watching." I haven't been the biggest Ashley Young fan for a while, but he has played well in preseason and was playing well in that game up to that point.

On another note, it's great to see Fletch playing as well as he's played in preseason. I hope he can stay healthy. He's had a rough go and deserves the chance to get back to his best. It would be a huge asset to the team to have him back this season as a regular option.

The question is: Would Arsenal have a parade if they'd won this one? I like to believe they would.

Mata will be the PL's top scoring midfielder this season. Go ahead and mark it down.
