It's also possible he's still injured. He said he felt something in the Tottenham game, but still went to play for Argentina. I don't think it's a coincidence that he then didn't start against Everton or Barca.
He also could be being punished by Pep for going on international duty while injured.

I am going to make a bold proclamation today, and say Kompany will be sold in the Summer.

Kompany was the sole reason for today's loss.
I saw you talking about it in the match day thread and for some reason were downvoted, but you were exactly right, and the commentators even spoke on it. Stones anticipated what Kompany should have done.
Other impressions:
I will say I thought Sane looked great at times today.
Silva I think is just not very good anymore. He appears a shadow of his old self.
I cannot wait for Sagna to return.

It's just painfully obvious that Kompany was defending under Pellegrini, and Stones was defending under Pep. Kompany tells Stones to play it long, and then moves up. Stones knows Pep wants to play out from the back. So he continues to do it. This is why Hart was sold, and Cabellero stayed. Honestly, though I think he's sold because he simply can't pass well enough. He can put in an occasionally strong through ball, but his passing has been consistently shoddy.
I don't think Kompany was the sole reason for the loss though. I mean I don't think Southampton would have scored without it, but I mean we could have attacked better. The team dominates possession with the 343, but they haven't figured out how to space it properly in the attacking third when Sterling and Sane are playing as inverted wingers. It looks better when they play as natural wingers, but I think Pep prefers them to be inverted. It's just going to take time.
Aguero being completely and utterly out of form is killing this team, especially when he attempts to play himself back into form by trying to do too much. He did not have one good strike all game long. He was simply terrible imo.

An expected result.
Good thing is that we didn't get smashed after making nine changes from the weekend while playing two youngsters who aren't normally in the team.
Really liked what I saw from Maffeo.

Both he and Garcia looked solid.

Garcia looked good, except he should have tracked Mata back on the goal. Crucial mistake, but he's young. It will happen.

Aguero back. Amazing how an in form striker can change the results a team is getting.
The team is not playing any better or worse than they have recently in my opinion.

Aguero's second goal today was absolutely fricking incredible. It had been awhile since I'd seen someone for us hit a shot like that into the top corner.

Yeah that whole sequence was just nasty. THAT'S the Kun I love.

two things:
1) that was as loud as i've ever heard the etihad; and
2) what a fricking monkey to have off of our back!

Gundogan is settling in. And it is lovely.

I wish we had bought Pogba instead of Gundogan

Pogba season totals across all competitions: 3 goals, 0 assists.
Gundogan totals for last two games across all competitions: 4 goals, 1 assist.
i really wish Pogba was ours too.

Think jason heyward. When he chose to go to the cubs and not come back to the cards, we were pissed. We really wanted him. Instead, this is what he and his replacement did this year.
Heyward: .230 HR 7 RBI 49 -20 mil per
Piscotty: .273 HR 22 RBI 85 - 520,000 per
see the difference .
I love using this anytime I can.
