Watching Sahin vs. the US the other day, it reminded me that I had pretty much completely forgotten that he was on our squad for three months two years ago.

Definitely wasn't a fit for the "possession" thing we did two years ago, but I think he would have done well in our lethal side this past season. The problem is, I'm having trouble figuring out where he would have played - I guess Cou's role somewhat? Since clearly Cou was brought in to replace what we wanted him to give us in some ways?

Twitter is saying the Emre Can deal is just about done, and that Shaqiri's reps have been talking to Pool.

I like the Can move, and I think I'd prefer Shaqiri to Lallana. Anyone hearing anything else?

Daily Mail wrote something that Tottenham were going to offer something like £14m + Soldado on loan for Moreno, so in other words, water is wet.

We could probably start a thread on it and it'd go for about 30 pages with all the players linked to the Tots once we are interested

Markovic is a HUGE talent, but is still so young... He would probably be coutinho-esque... Loads of skill, but light weight... He have to be brought along slow IMO.. Unlike lallana, who we'd throw straight into the deep end...

Anyway, more of a second striker, AM.. Who can play on the wing

Supposedly, a big Chelsea fan too

I would love Markovic, but I'm not sure he's someone that helps you win next season... Especially at that price...

I sort of feel like we're building for two or three years from now. Building the squad depth is imperative and you have to think that Can and some others can give us some quality games. But you're right in that it sort of doesn't feel like many of our targets are going to be huge impacts. And with the money being spent, it feels like there wont' be any money to get a big impact guy.

One thing I do like - SouthHampton is playing a bit of hard ball, so the rumor mill instantly churns out rumors about Markovic and Shaqiri. I think we're beginning to learn how to play the game better. And maybe it will end up with us taking Shaq instead, etc.

Liverpool have submitted a planning application to redevelop Anfield that would increase the total stadium capacity to 58,800. The Premier League club made the application to Liverpool City Council on Wednesday that would, if agreed, increase capacity in both its main and Anfield Road stands. The application is likely to be considered by the city's planning committee later this year. A statement on the Liverpool FC website read: "If consent is granted, the proposals would see the capacity of a new Main Stand rise by 8,500, taking it to nearly 21,000.

The council has been with then every step of the way and has more or less already said yes to the project. Just need the Hancocks.

Not worth it.

I wouldn't sell him for any price unless he's demanding to go (and not just publicity demanding like last year - it would require official transfer demanding)

He's too valuable and instrumental in what we do.

And who would/could we get that would be equal?
