a year and a half is not 'too small a sample size'. It took him a long time to grow into himself as a player sure, but that's what happens with a lot of young players.

His defensive abilities were putting him into the no doubt best category, but this season his passing was putting him into the world elite category. Now, that may have been too small of a sample size, but it was encouraging nonetheless.

I agree, when he went out, he was world class... Not a destroyer like Masch, but read the game so well... It took him a few years to grow into the position, but he was an attacking midfielder coming out of Gremio... Hopefully, he has a full recovery from his knee injury.

Also, on the thought that we MAY have Aqua back for next year...

Jen Chang ? @JenChang88
Note that in 9 games Aquilani started for LFC from Jan '10, LFC went 6-2-1. Aquilani had 2 goals, 6 assists, hit post twice in those games

He'll fit right in with this current squad. Tbh, I never thought I'd see him in Liverpool again, but he could offer an interesting dynamic in an already crowded midfield.

I don't think he'll start another match for Liverpool in the BPL. I just don't see it.

Yea, neither did I...I'm just going off the supposed rumors I keep seeing. Perhaps with guys like Kuyt, Maxi, Adam, etc potentially moving on, a spot will open up for him. But you're right, after he reached the sale benchmark with AC (can't remember exactly how many matches it was now) I thought he was done with us for sure.

Well AC did decide NOT to buy him. So he will be coming back. I just see him being shopped around again until we find a buyer. I feel bad for him.

Im not sure if we'll see Aqua back at Anfield... Rumor is we are going after Juan Manuel Vargas from Fiorentina and Aqua may be going the other way since they are set to lose Montilivo...

Let the rumors begin...

Looks like we agreed on a fee for Rasmus Elm (Swedish mid). Anyone else seeing this? Around 8M pounds.

His named was linked a lot last week... a quick scan of the headlines today and many are suing done deal... I know zero about him, other that he has been called Gerrard-esque in almost every article I've read...

We've just got one. I would love de Jong to be here

Just saw this on the bbc gossip pages. Elm plays for the same club as Jozy Altdidore so I've gotten to see him play a few times. He's a box to box midfielder with a world class long shot on him. He's not the quickest of players but he is a pretty good passer and has a good engine. I think he would be a good signing. A midfield 3 of Lucas-elm-Gerrard would be pretty imposing.

Hopefully this is a sign we are abandoning the "buy English experiment"

Most of the names we are being linked with are neither English or in the Premier League.

Elm
Gaston Ramirez
de Jong
Honda

Send Adam back to Blackpool and lets roll.
