Real Madrid didn't need Gareth Bale. At all. And they broke the bank for him.

Ok then there are some conflicting reports about his wages out there on the internet

But still.... 6million euors isnt that huge of a salary for top notch players.

Oh yea Monaco can easily afford to pay him more. Not a big deal to Rybolovlev.... thats chump change for this guy

Man I wish i could roll like that....

Well technically every team can beat them, but they'll be favored in every single match they play.
Yeah they've played like crap but they keep moving on.

James is safe at Monaco unless a massive bid comes in. Upwards of 70mil. Maybe even higher than that considering he's signed for the next four years. Monaco doesn't need the money, James is looking at a big raise after this, and he has CL football.

How many other 22 year olds do you know that are on 115k a week? Not very many. And before this tournament he was just an extremely promising player. After this showing he'll get whatever he asks for.

I'm happy to see people jumping on the Uruguay hate bandwagon. I've disliked them since Suarez's intentional handball and how he was lauded as a hero for that.

I don't want any player on my team who wouldn't have done the same exact thing in that situation

Anything in particular?

What about Chielleni? Didn't he say the ban was excessive? Are we hating on him too, or are we calling him a class act?

I dont think it really makes a difference he was pretty pissed of when it happened. I think its more he understands how much it would suck to miss that much time.

There isn't a single liverpool fan on this board, TIA board, The Anfield Wrap, or the Anfield Index that I've seen mention anything negative about the situation. Surprisingly, the Guardian's World Cup podcast (with no LFC supporters, mind you) are the only ones I heard calling the ban unfair on the player/team.
