Ride the pine at Werder who are in the relegation zone, meaning he won't play ever, or frick shite up with Dempsey and Obi. At this point, he needs to play and Seattle is the place.

Id rather seen him in Holland, before making the jump to Germany.
If he wants to play in the MLS then go for it. There will probably be tons of pressure on him playing for Seattle.

Does this mean he 99% is now signing with Seattle or could another trial come about?

Well he wasn't drafted bc he was in their youth academy for a year, so they still have his rights.
He probably would have progressed through the academy to the first team eventually anyway, if he didn't play college ball.

Might as well keep the tradition alive and move him to AZ.

He's also be relegated to a sub in Seattle as well.

He would have gotten plenty of playing time last year

He will get playing time in Seattle (presuming his ability is about where concensus thinks it is), MLS clubs have no depth and Dempsey and Oba are old.

Only due to injuries. He's not starting in Seattle outside of more injuries or playing out of position.

I def think he will get a look. Due to the lack of depth.
But if he doesn't perform, its going to build up even more pressure for him.
I think he could be doing this as a way to help give back to Seattle. Put up good numbers vs suspect defenders and drive his price up. Which the MLS will love.

You are correct. His entry into the MLS/Professional world is unique. His is basically international caliber before he is professional.
It will take him about 1-2 years for his worth to go up and Europe will be calling. Everyone will win.

I prefer this move for him at this time. Sometimes I forget that he is a US college soccer player; making the jump to the Bundesliga would be a difficult move.
Seattle is a great organization and he can play with Dempsey, Martins, Ivanschitz in front of 45K fans. I think he will get plenty of minutes even if Seattle manages to avoid injuries this year because I think the manager will want to keep Dempsey and Martins fresh for the stretch run. That means they will need to be rested throughout the season due to the turf, age, etc.
If he continues to progress and develop as a quality professional player he will have more opportunities in the future. Let us say that he does very well for the next 3-4 years in Seattle. He can then look at making the move to Europe when he is 24-25 if that is something he would like to do. I think this is good for him.

I was really hoping this would happen, but I'll root for the kid wherever he goes. Guess we'll have to stick with Ujah and Pizzaro up top.

Awesome. More regular first team minutes. Would love to see him play in MLS for a few years and then move abroad.

I have not heard this. Interesting if so.
I wonder what were the deciding factors?
