Obviously this has always been Mourinho's strategy against talented sides away from home. I guess it will depend on how much he respects United, but given our striker situation and the fact that old habits die hard I expect us to be more defensive minded.

Based on a limited sampling, I'd say not very well.

their back line is bad and Blind is slow

Hazard should be able to create all kinds of problems for them. It's just a matter of somebody getting on the end of his balls or taking advantage of the attention he draws the way Costa was doing before his injury.

My bad. Sitting tied for fourth and claiming we're pulling a Totts is totally sensible.

Well you have not really played murders row other than city. Needed a miracle to beat QPR

Yeah, so far he's been ok against the bottom of the table... but all in all, your defense is just as bad as ours.. and he's a part of that... But after what you have had in that position in recent years, he's an upgrade...

He's a decent player, but to me his value is in his versatility... He's a squad player in a top team (and no, I'm not suggesting we are top team)..

Blind has been more than ok. Hey West Ham is in 4th if you want to get all technical

He has bossed it in pretty much every match.

United has looked better vs common opponents.

Regardless this is Chelsea's world and we are all just living in it this season.

He's far from bossed it... but I understand how you've been blinded by DM play recently... trust me, I think he's a fine player and he would add value to our squad, no doubt.. it still doesn't take away the fact that he's slow and part of one of the worst defenses in the EPL... I never said he was a bad player

Ok, but overall we've played the tougher schedule and have more points... so, there's that...

That said, unless we get our act together quickly, and with you guys down to 2 comps overall, the smart money would be on you guys finishing above us in the table... luckily for us, outside of Chelsea and possibly City... the 3rd spot down is a crapshoot...

Ha... he wouldn't do that even if we had those Milan defenses of old...

Meh after sunday you can throw that argument out the window.

We have too many draws and you have more L's.

Last week it was flipped with United in front and in the top 4.

We crushed QPR, you needed a miracle to beat them.

We beat West Ham(top 4 ) , they crush you.

We tie West Brom you beat them.

We beat Everton you tie them.

Neither side has played a brutal first few months

well finally we are back on topic for this thread.

The depth you guys tried to add really has not worked out. Now the grind has started and you can't run the same XI almost every week like last year.

injuries have not helped us early this season at all either... I like the younger players we bought and its a shame Origi could not have come this season... More over, I don't think we'd lose any player if we don't qualify for UCL next season... so, we're good in that regard..

I do think we'll get better as the season goes on, we didn't start off last season as the team we are remembered for until ~ December... Raheem didn't start seeing significant minutes until then...

You guys have a tough 4 game stretch, so we'll see where we both stand after that

Neither have United, Arsenal, or Tottenham. Yet we still sit above all of them. And i'd say we've clearly played a tougher schedule than united. Look, are we complete shite? Absolutely. But we're complete shite sitting fourth. Imagine when Studge gets back and we finally start clicking.

Maybe we have very different definitions of "pulling a Spurs."

We're both shite. I think his point was your transfers this season haven't panned out, which is true. Our transfers (for the most part) have been excellent. We both are struggling tremendously on the defensive front and until we address those areas we can continue to expect WTF results occasionally. Also competing with Chelsea and City this season is going to be very difficult if not impossible so w're fighting for those last two champion's league spots.

Should be interesting.

If it means selling our best player to a La Liga power for a lot of cash and buying a lot of players.... that was an obvious parallel...

Now if we axe BR in December... SCH may be on to something!
