well the owner is what's already in place and he's the reason for my enthusiasm tbh. They have money to spend, but with the new rules being put into play it has to be used wisely and that's where I think their advantage will be.
As for the new manager, this shite excites me. I'm fairly certain it's not going to be some recycled mess (Allardyce, Erikson, Hodgson...) but will be a young up and comer with new ideas and enthusiasm. Someone the Liverpool fans can grow with. Hopefully this guy.

Villas Boas is intriguing...its amazing how well he's done at Porto in his first season...also, never having played professional football...

they just throttled Benfica 5-0...He's having a ridiculous season, and obviously having a similar background to Mourinho (and having worked under him) makes him very intriguing.

Everton intrigues me because of all the talent...
Forest intrigues me because of their history...nothing else though.
Tottenham intrigues me because they're fun.
Bolton because of Stubear and they're entertaining.
Pool is suffering at the moment, and new ownership and stuff like that is always exciting.
All teams involved have their merits.

I could see that, but I just don't know how much fun it would be to support a team that probably never will have a chance to end up on top you know?
I mean when you come from an American sports background that's a hard thing to grasp. Sure it's not the be all end all for everyone, but I'd think it would still be tough when basically fighting for 5-7th place is the best you can expect.

This one is better imo.
The one when they beat Chelsea to go through was great, but this one when they're getting embarrassed on the biggest stage was better.

I made the switch from Arsenal to Everton over the summer. Passionate fans, great history, and a classic ground. It's been painful to watch at times, but for the most part I've enjoyed it and I'll probably stick with them for a long time.

This year, the Bundesliga is pretty much decided already. Borussia Dortmund is a fricking train right now, but Bayern can fight back in and get a top 3 spot.

Sunderland is your answer. Have only been up again since 2007, but a squad with a lot of history.
They have good ManU connections - e.g. Roy Keane took his first job as manager at Sunderland.
They have an awesome stadium.
They have an awesome rivalry with Newcastle.
They have a RATIONAL American owner who has really built the club up into something. (currently in 6th place, directly behind Chelski). In other words, you have something legitimate to pull for that has not happened in years - a spot in Europa League competition.
They have a lot of exciting players.
The people are great - I went to a match their last year and met the salt of the earth. I'm a fan for life now.

Watching us rise from these ashes is going to be so awesome. Following this team through the shite storm that Rafa and the Americans left it in is really building a passion for the team I never knew I would have.
Its really painful sometimes. Hell that wolves game was probably the lowest I've felt since I started following these guys. But when we finally claw our way back out it'll all be worth it.
The thing that makes Liverpool so special are the fans. The same fans that are world renown for staying fiercely loyal to their manager and their team even in the darkest of hours. And that's why "You'll Never Walk Alone" is such a perfect anthem for them. It personifies the one thing the club has stood for since its inception: loyalty and hope in face of hopelessness. You think those are just words? Go look up what happened in the locker room at halftime of the '05 CL final. Go watch the videos of Pool fans belting out YNWA even while their team is down 0-3 against Milan and victory seemed impossible. Its that type of passion and loyalty that allows the truly legendary types of games and comebacks like the ones against West Ham in the FA final, Milan in the CL final, and Olympiakos in the group stage in '05.
