I think it's a perfect fit. The pressure, the physicality, the style of play for Rangers. Not many Championship teams would want to play Zelalem deep. Rangers will. He'll develop and come out the other side better.

Great move. Now, its not a first division move that we all would have hoped, but the Scottish league will help address his biggest weakness....physicality.
Arsenal's midfield is stacked right now. Wilshire, Ramsey, Ozil, Rosicky, Arteta, Cazorla, Flamini, Alexis. Granted, there are some injuries, but that is a hell of a squad to break into. Any club with first team football would be a great loan move.
Scotland will toughen him up, get him minutes...not to mention the chance to lead a squad to the top of the table. Very valuable experience for future title challenges.

Such pressure, and playing in front of crowds of more than 50,000 on occasion, can only serve the teenager well at Arsenal – where the mental demands of delivering Premier League can crush even the brightest of young talents
What the frick does this even mean? Playing against part-timers in a large stadium is good practice for the EPL? Da frick?

The loan move is just to January. I'm not reading too much into what it means for his future. Probably just trying to get him some games and experience outside of the U-21 team.

Not angry. Just baffled how anyone could see this move as a good thing.

I'm baffled as to why anyone can see it as a bad thing. He's 18, he has less than 90 minutes of experience at the top level, and this is an easy way to get him games, which he desperately needs. If he rides the bench then we can say it is a poor loan, but as long as he gets games then it should be fine.

would you be mocking the move if it was another championsip side? doubtful

It's against fricking part timers. Send him to a Championship side. Send him to the MLS. FFS, send him to fricking Kilmarnock.

Scottish Championship? Yes. Sending a 'promising youth player' to play against part timers says that you've given up on him.

For someone who isn't angry... you sure are angry

will the competition be full-timers or part-timers?
No one has addressed this yet.

Zelalem is going to be brought along slowly. The loan is only to January. Like I said, he needs gametime. The level is not so important as much as just playing. A MLS loan would not work because the season is nearly over. Zelalem also chose to go to Rangers as he had other offers. Maybe the Rangers loan guarantees him gametime while the others couldn't. It would be very unlike Wenger to give up on Zelalem so quickly. It is not in his MO for a young player.

what does that say about the state of Scottish football as a whole if its 2nd division has a few teams that are part time.

I'm glad to see that TN Boy's wisdom is still held in high regard here.

I mean Arsene held on to Diaby for as long as he possibly could.
